Deling City: The paradeGo to Walkthrough Index Go to Disc 1 Go to Disc 2 Go to Disc 3 Go to Disc 4
GFs: Brothers, Carbuncle Items: Timber Maniacs, Weapons Monthly Make your way to Deling city (take the train, pay 3000 gil :< ). Head up the escalator and take the bus 08 to General Caraway's Mansion. Talk to the guard at the entrance. He will tell you that you first have to pass a small test to talk to Caraway and gives you a map. Explore the city a little, buy stuff, get the Timber Maniacs in the hotel under your bed. Leave the city and go northwest to the Tomb of the Unknown King. (If you want to look really badass, rent a car. Real heroes don't walk!) Well. This "test" is a test for wusses. The only thing you have to do is go to the entrance of the cave and examine the sword for a code. This code is random every time you start a new game, which is why it's not listed here. :P Now all you have to do is go back to the guard, tell him the code and he'll let you through to General Caraway. So why the why the big fuss? A map, a whole maze- and the stupid sword lies at the entrance!? Let's explore this a little, shall we. The reason there's such a big shabang around this sword is because there's a GF hidden in this Tomb. Or actually, two GFs functioning as one. How to get them? Read the bottom of the page :P I'll go on with the storyline now. Go back to the guard, give him the code, rablah, he'll let you pass. Talk to Rinoa, then meet Caraway. He will give you a long overview of your mission and an even longer tour through Deling City. But as we know, most of the stuff in this game is waaaay easier than explained, right? ^^ Anyway. Return to the mansion, and once you get to control Quistis, try to leave the room and crash into our loveable dumbhead, Rinoa. Congratulations, now you're trapped in the room... Make your way to the sewers by jumping on waterwheels and kicking ladders so they serve as bridges. Jump over the waterwheel and walk through the door next to you. Then just continue north. Another change of scene, you'll have to make your way over the boxes and roofs with Squall and Irvine now. I mean, I could understand that Rinoa was slow; she's a spoiled little princess, but THOSE TWO? A crazy witch is trying to take over the world, Rinoa is close to getting killed, Quistis is stuck in the stinkiest place of the whole city and a certain SeeD and his assassin are crawling over those boxes like snails on a sunday walk. Good morning guys, the clock is still ticking. Jeez. Anyway. At the top, watch your steps not to trip over the president, proceed through the corridor with the red carpet. Yay, boss fight! Defeat these two crazy geckos and get a fashy croco- leatherbag for free!
D R A W C A R B U N C L E . Can be a very very useful GF (when it comes to his abilities, anyway. Otherwise he's useless. But at least he's cute! =^.^=). When summoned, he casts reflect on all of your party members, and he also has a few useful abilities. Anyway, to kill these reptiles, don't use fire spells or GFs (= Ifrit) and watch out with their status attacks, they like to stone you (tee-hee). They don't have much HP though, so just keep pounding them with Squall and Shiva or Siren or Brothers if you have them, or cast spells, whatever you like. Need to heal? Call 111 C-U-R-E and draw directly from the source! (i.e. note you can draw Esuna and Cure from them :P) That said, we shall continue. Take the oh- so- secret entrance to the huge music box and take the gun. Hmm, didn't we forget someone here...? Yes, our beautiful madame instructor is still stuck in dementor's heaven. And you have to flee from this labyrinth. Hmmm. Actually, you can't do anything wrong when just running clockwise to find the exit- you might miss a weapons monthly and a drawpoint though (both not *that* good anyway). In the sewers, you can open gates and jump onto waterwheels. For the short way through, jump on the waterwheel and continue north until you reach a fork, then head west, continue west until you reach a corner a corner junction and head north until you arrive at a second cross junction. Head east, jump over the two waterwheels along the way, then continue your path and take two more waterwheels heading south. Now if everything went well you should be at the place you first entered the sewers at (you'll find the exit quickly. Exits are where save points are). Now all you have to do is climb up the ladder, check the window for a FMV and flip the switch on the wall. Another Sequence follows. The witch is trapped, Irvine talks to Squall and misses his shot. Take your last chance to junction your GFs wisely and enter the fight.
Seifer is extremely pathetic. Junction fire spells to your elemental defense and kick him with physical attacks to see him lose. And Edea? You don't even have to wn this fight, but you won't get any AP if you lose. So let's go! Cast Carbuncle and she will be stupid and focus on dispeling your reflect status all the time. So, while you keep summoning Carbuncle with one character, the others will have enough time to draw a few Double and Life spells, heal if it's required and kick her butt. ^^ After you killed her (or not) you will be off to... Disc 2! Congratulations, the easy part is over. TipsGetting the Brothers GF: The guard will sell you a locator so you will always know where you are (in the Tomb of the Unknown King, that is). That is completely unnecessary; it is not helpful at all and totally overpriced. If you're good at reading maps this won't be a problem anyway. From the entrance of the grave, go to the right at the first fork, then left, right, left, straight, left, left then always straight forward until you meet Sacred.
Float is a good idea, both of the Brothers like to use strong earth- elemental attacks. Don't use Quetzacotl, use Shiva and Ifrit instead and Squall's strong physical attacks to kill this bitch. Now he will run away- and you'll be rewarded with a Sacred card! Go to the point directly at the other side of the map where you will find a chain and a stone. Pull the chain so the water starts flowing. Go back and always take the paths to your right until you reach a waterwheel, pull the lever- and you will have opened the heart of the tomb. Now go to the entrance of the tomb (where the sword lies), but don't leave it unless you have to heal or save badly because it might lower your SeeD- level. If you always run straight beginning at the entrance, you will reach the center of the tomb- and notice that it's now open! Go inside and meet borth of the Brothers.
Cast Float on your party members to be protected against their strong earth elemental attacks. Summon Siren so they stop recovering their HP and kill them off. The Brothers will join you and as a small bonus you now receive a Minotaur Card too. :)
