Alexander has to be drawn from Edea in Galbadia Garden, at the end of the attack scene. He can also be drawn in Ultimecia's castle from Catoblepas on Disc 4. His Holy- elemental attack works well against undead monsters in case you don't have any healing spells or items at hand (but that should be a rare occurrence, heh). Other than that, his Med LV-Up item refining ability is necessary if you want to get the Doomtrain- GF. It's also a good way to make money!
