Important Battlefield Events:
- After the 39th turn or when you defeat the Bandit Chief (whatever comes first, Claire, Shion and the three Nordilian soldiers appear in the southwest.

- If Claire is reduced to half of her HP, she retreats with Shion and the Nordilians.

- If Claire attacks Galvas, Galvas will be infuriated, and his POW will go up temporarily. Same thing happens to Claire if she attacks Bastion.

Strategy
If you've been following my walkthrough, then you should have gotten a fair amount of shopping done prior to this mission. Everyone should now be outfitted with a newer weapon and a Level 2 stone. Hopefully, you've swiped Galvas' Serata ATAC, because he won't be around forever, and it's a damn good machine. Anyway, on with the tactics.

Start the battle with some Searing Flame spells on characters such as Barlow and Reyna, to increase the amount of damage they do. Bandits 4-6 aren't worth much at all, but the Bandit Chief and Bandits 1-3 are good for a fair amount of EXP. Problem is, Zeira usually goes after the Chief, so try and get him caught up in a conflict so that he's too overwhelmed to attack the Chief. If he severely lowers an enemy's HP, have someone move in for the kill. As before, try and let your lower leveled characters catch up by killing the Bandits...

The Nordilians have very high POW stats, so be prepared to take a lot of damage should you be hit. You might just want to take out Claire and end the battle.

However, after the Bandit Chief bites the dust, a new threat appears. Claire, Shion and 3 Nordilians attack from the southwest corner, and Claire gets angry once she starts attacking, which gives her a big boost in POW. Her Fireball attacks hit HARD, and may very well kill you if your HP is low. However, if you reduce Claire to around 39 HP, she will leave the battlefield along with Shion and any Nordilians. Therefore, you can end the battle quickly, or take down the Nordilians, and then take down Claire. The choice is yours; look at your party's condition, and if you're afraid of losing a unit, then it would be best to finish the battle.

Also note that if you dizzy Claire, move in for the kill. This way, you will actually get the money she drops, as well as EXP for a kill! Try NOT to let Zeira take the kill, or even attack Claire... as he doesn't get anything out of it. If you can, let Galvas take the beating that Claire will dish out. And if you are trying to dizzy Claire without lowering her HP too much, try attacks such as Ice Shards, Melting Flare and Quicksand; which don't do much damage, but will be countered by Claire's Melting Flare, upping her FP.

Now that the mission is complete..

- You move on to either Mission 6 or 7.

Here, a story scene will show, and a decision will have to be made. Here, the game splits into 2 little mini-paths, and you can actually branch between them, depending on if you win Mission 6 or 7. 6 normally goes on to 9, and 7 normally goes on to 8. From there, 8 goes to 11 no matter what, and 9 goes to 10 no matter what (it's a tad confusing). All of these missions must be played eventually for a perfect save file, though. To get to Mission 6, choose the dialogue choice "Actually, Zeira, I'll meet with him." to open another choice; from there, choose "Yes, tell him I will depart soon." Choosing any other option will lead you to Mission 7.

Keep in mind that taking 6, 9 and 10 results in getting a new team member later on, while taking 7, 8 and 11 can do wonders for your party's morale. Also keep in mind that this particular party member gives a large morale boost. Keep that in mind and choose your route.

At any rate, save your game and load stats from the Options screen, then do the Interview thing with anyone but Galvas. Check the Briefing for an overview of what's next, and when you're ready, head to Mission 6: Radcot's Trap (It's a trap!), or Mission 7: The Muspel Army (which isn't a trap).

Click on Akbar to head to Mission 6, or Rick James to head to Mission 7. For reference, Akbar is the ugly one. No wait.. he's the squid. If you're as confused as I am, use the navigation buttons below.
