Mission 6: Radcot's Trap

Mission Overview
Situation:

Why does Radcot want to meet in the middle of the desert? I hope he doesn't try anything... we're not exactly prepared for desert combat.

Important Battlefield Events:
- Before the battle begins, a question pops up. The first response increases Galvas' morale, the second lowers it a little (doesn't matter anyway) and puts Bastion into a happy state, increasing his DEX for the rest of the battle.

- If Radcot is reduced to less than 97 HP, he flees the battlefield with his soldiers, and you move on to Mission 9. However, if Bastion is knocked out during this mission, you move on to Mission 8.

Strategy
Let me just begin with something... NEVER TRUST A DESERT SNAKE! Now that you've learned to respect your elders, you can go on and attempt to win this nearly impossible mission.

But odds are you won't. The Muspel soldiers are all high leveled, and from the start, they will surround Bastion 4 ways, with the other soldiers behind them forming a neat cross shape. Radcot will move in from the side and hit you from the corners. Bastion can't possibly endure this for long. So what's your team to do? Move up there and fight, right? Well, that's the problem; this is the desert, my fair-weathered friend. Every one of the Muspel soldiers is equipped with Desert Motion, as well as Radcot himself, while your team has trouble covering even a few spaces (watch Zeira's movement range to get an example).

Bastion is screwed... you might as well accept defeat

But, if you can get up to Radcot with your team without being swarmed too much by Muspel troops, try and knock Radcot down to half his HP. If you do, you will win this mission! The best way of course is to get him dizzy through lots of relentless attacking, then hitting him in the back. You might want to take down some Muspels as well, but the truth is that you probably won't last very long against them, what with their supreme numbers and all. I've seen the Assist stat for the Muspels go up to 36 in this battle!

Even if you do manage to knock out a few Muspels, you'll probably lose some team members, and that really hurts the Morale. It would be best to just have Bastion attack Radcot at the start of the battle and accept your fate. You've lost, but it's not like you felt up your cousin in the garage that one time when I was 19. And you don't die; you simply move on to Mission 9, plus you meet a new friend!

Now that the mission is complete..

- You move on to Mission 9 (if you lost), or Mission 8 (if you won)

Now, save your game and load stats from the Options screen, then head to the Interview screen and do what you normally do. Check the Briefing for an overview of what's next, and when you're ready, head to Mission 8: Dionne's Test, or Mission 9: Desert Escape.
