Chapter 6: The Meaning of FriendshipNew Enemies:
Items to be Found:
New Party Members: Zero Bosses: Shadow, Incentas Mechaniloids to get: Bat Bone, Mega Mantor (needs Mini Battery), Degraver Secret Area: Basement Level 3 - 2 Figure Tokens, a deactivated Gold Blader (needs Heavy Motor), and Tank Parts (needs Gimialla Key). Note: Mettaur Gigant appears only in this area. Being the ass that he is, Zero leaves once again. Seems like he doesn't like X's new friends, does he? Well, besides Axl, that is. Don't worry, since you'll be seeing him again VERY SOON. After Zero leaves, another communication from Redips lets you know that he's found the Rebellion's base. However, X isn't for sure about this, and Nana needs some time to compile the data on the area you'll be going to next, so you can't use any of the features until she's done. Head outside for a cutscene. Hmmm... What's with that blue light? And why did Spider come out of it? That's another mystery concerning the bounty hunter that's best left for another time. Heh. If you want a little bit of silliness, talk to Massimo twice. He'll ask why Axl can't change into Zero. "That'd be like gaining a new ally, wouldn't it?" Heh. Just wanted to point that out. Anyhow, Nana's pinpointed the location as being the Gimialla Mines, so make your preparations wisely. There's a lot of enemies weak against different elements, so make sure and purchase weapons and Force Metals for all elements. Also, get a Mettaur Crash for Axl, since you'll be facing Mettaurs in the mines as well. If you've been collecting figures, you'll noticed that the vending machine has changed stock. If you're trying to collect the old ones, go to the East Square near the Save Point to get them. When you're done with what you need to do (figure purchasing, weapon buying, mechaniloid deployment, resting up, and saving), talk to Nana to begin your mission. Note: When facing a Silver Mettaur, focus on stealing from it as well as attacking. You can get the Ace of Diamonds from it, and when it's defeated, there's a chance (if a very slim one) that it'll drop a Beam Miracle weapon. It's weak against Thunder, so shock him, but note that he has a very good chance of running before being destroyed, so this might take a bit to get enough for selling fodder. Note: Like the Fire Glob back in the Ulfat Factory, the Plasma Glob will also power up if hit with a Thunder attack, so be warned if any of the party has a thunder weapon on them. In the case of the Liquid Glob, it will freeze if hit with Ice, so consider keeping someone with an ice weapon in the party at all times. In this first large room (most of the rooms you'll be going in will be just like this), grab the Ultra Fire, Ultra Thunder, and Ultra Blizzard before heading to the elevator. Time to head down to the second basement. These mines are CRAWLING with Mettaurs (more commonly called "Mets" in the Megaman and Megaman X games). If Axl has the Mettaur Crash, he can do some MAJOR damage to these guys, but only if they're not tucked under their helmets. You can flip 'em over with a Combat attack, so I suggest doing that before Axl attacks (Marino, anyone?). In the first room of the second basement, get the 1200z, Anti-Lock, and DOA Protection. If you head south, you'll come across two Figure Tokens. You'll also see two dead-end doorways here. Each one of them has good prizes in them, but you need to start with the one in the southwest. Head to the southen hall first and defeat the trio of Rush Loaders in the closet. Note: Try to defeat the Rush Loaders all at once. If you defeat them one by one, the last one will get super huge and use a suicide dash on you. Take them out with a 100% Charge Shot with X followed by a Final Strike (if one gets initated). When the Rush Loaders are defeated, you'll gain the Booster Parts. X can now smash through boulders using his dash! :D This'll make getting some of the items in this area a bit more easier to get, as you'll soon see. Go back to the rocks you passed earlier to gain a Mini Motor. This'll start up a busted Mechaniloid somewhere. Now, head southeast to pick up the Ace of Spades and a Figure Token (look behind the boulders). There's a Save Point in the northen section of the main hall once you exit outta here, so use it and go northeast. In this area, you'll find thee Figure Tokens and a Deactivated Bat Bone for the Deployment Center. Next, smash the boulders at the end of the North Hall to get to a control panel. When you activate this, you'll be able to head down to the third basement level. Now, go to the northeast division to find 800FME, Build LE, Tank Parts, and a Deactivated Mega Mantor that needs a Mini Battery to run, but thankfully, you've got one. When you got everything, take the elevator down to the third basement and get the 100 Tank Energy if you need it. Head through the door. Note: If you're not ready for the boss encounter up ahead, use the Save Point to go back to New Hope to get healed up and get more items. You can also check up on your Mechaniloids and send your new ones out to get items as well. *WARNING!* Shadow Guess who? Yup, it's the traitor, Shadow. This time, however, he's powered by Supra-Force Metal. You'd better be ready to hit him HARD, and I mean REAL HARD, when he starts charging that cannon of his. If you've got Hyper Modes, use 'em! He also has a Code Breaker move, which, if you're not careful, can KO one of your guys flat. How to beat him: Like I said earlier, you need to hit Shadow HARD when he starts charging his cannon. If you don't, he'll unleash a powerful attack when he gets done charging it. The best way to go is Hyper Modes (especially Spider's and Axl's). Keep pounding on him til the cutscene appears. It looks like Shadow's going to take down X and Axl, doesn't it? Guess again! Zero comes to the rescue, and he's DEFINATELY got some payback for Shadow! It's time for Round 2! Note: When the second round begins, Zero will replace whoever was in the third spot. Switch him out for now, since he's not that well equipped atm. Same stragety as earlier, but beware when he uses the Break Shield to increase his power. Keep pounding him, and make sure to steal to get his Build Armor and Build Shield. He also has 28000 HP this time around, so it'll take a bit longer. Keep pounding him til he goes down to earn a Figure Token and the Z Ichimonji. When Shadow goes down, you'll get a cutscene in which Spider saves Zero much to Zero's surprise. This act also earns Zero's respect for Spider. When the cutscene is over, you're free to continue on your way. Note: Since Zero's returned, this'd be a good time to go back to back to New Hope and get some of the elemental weapons for Zero. You're going to be facing a lot of Globs in this next area, so having two characters with different elemental weapons will help greatly. For now, get fire and ice, since the Liquid Glob freezes upon getting hit with an ice attack. When you're set, head back to the mines and head to the third basement. From the main room here, go south to grab two Figure Tokens. You'll also find a mining mechaniloid who's not functioning right. Make sure to note his posistion. Also, that door you see next to him won't open without the Gimialla Key, so make sure to come back when you get it. Next, head north to find a Save Point. Keep heading north through the door to find a miner Reploid. He needs the Electronic Components and thinks one of the mining mechaniloids has them. You'll then recieve the Red Pickaxe. Go back to the red mechaniloid and trade with him to get the Yellow Pickaxe and Electronic Components. You now have what you need to go to the final level, but there's some mechanioloids who also need fixing, so let's help them out as well. First thing's first. Look behind the mechaniloid to find a Figure Token, and then take the door north to get the Ace of Hearts and a Deactivated Degraver. When you find the next mechaniloid, trade the Yellow Pickaxe to get the Blue Pickaxe. Look behind him to get 1300z. Return to the main area and give the Miner Reploid the Electronic Components to fix the Elevator. Head to the southern main tunnel and give the blue mechaniloid the Blue Pickaxe. You'll now have a Green Pickaxe. To find the owner of it, go to the northwest division and the green mechaniloid. When you hand over the Green Pickaxe, you'll get a White Pickaxe and a Trade Sheet. Get the Force Missles from behind the miner. Head back to the Miner Reploid. When you hand over the Trade Sheet, you'll get an Infinate Resist. Now it's time to go to the fourth level. The main room here has a lot of stuff for you including a Save Point, Build Power, Build Shield, Build Speed, Build WE, and Build Armor. If you head south, you'll find a Gain Hyper, 100 Tank Energy, and a door that won't open until you defeat the "three guardians". Let's go find these "guardians" now. Take the door to the west first. You'll find a Water Guard, Fire Guard, and Thunder Guard. Now, go across to the other door. In here are three rooms. Each room has an Elemental Glob as a "guardian", but take care, since the is a glob of another type with it. Make sure to have someone set with the second element so you're not stuck with everyone having something that'll help one of the globs. Note: Here's what each "guardian" has with them: Plasma/Fire; Fire/Water; Water/Plasma. You can see which one you're about to face when you open the door, so prepare correctly. When you defeat all three "guardians", the door will open. This is the door to the boss, so if you need to go get anything, use the Save Point now to save and go back. I'd suggest doing so, since you'll likely need the Analyzer Force Metal for this one as well as elemental guard/resist Force Metals and weapons/subweapons/items. When you're set, head into the door. *WARNING!* Incentas Unlike most of the bosses you've faced so far, this one's by FAR the trickiest (even trickier than Mad Natillus!). The reason is that Incentas changes his element ever single round. What's that mean? Well, simply put, it means that his absorbance and weakness varies with each turn, which can be bad, since you'll likely be helping him if you hit him with the wrong element at the wrong time. Be prepared for the ones who have the element of the chosen moment to be either healing or using elemental items. How to beat him: First thing's first. Before you even go into this fight, make sure to have one of your party members equipped with the Analyze Force Metal. This is key to winning here. I put it on X, since he'll be one of the ones I'd be using. Next, make sure to take all the stuff equipped to Spider off. You'll see why in a bit. Also, make sure that everyone has a triple dose of elemental Guards/Resists. Because X has X Fire, give him either the Ice or Thunder Buster (and missiles of the other Element). Zero should get one of the other element sabres and missiles of the two you didn't choose. If you got any of Marino's elemental Star weapons, give her the one that you didn't pick for Zero, one of the other two missiles, and the Get Item subweapon. For an alternate, I picked Axl, since he has the three elements covered (Jango for Thunder, Horn for Water, and Jentra for Fire). Now, all you need to do is use the Analyzer Force Metal to see which element Incentas is and attack with the element he's weak against. Don't forget to cooldown X as well when it's needed. Keep this up, and you'll win. You'll get the Twin Ice and Twin Fire. Axl also gets Incentas' DNA for his DNA Change Action Trigger. Even though Incentas is defeated, he's not going to go down without taking X and the crew with him as he locks them in with him. Did you remember to take off all the items that you had on Spider? Good, because Spider goes bye-bye at the end of this chapter. How? I'll let you find that out yourself in the cutscene.
