New Party Members: Marino, Cinnamon

Boss: Dr.Psyche, Mad Nautilus

Mechaniloids to get: Preon, Big Monkey, Mettaur, Dober Man (needs Bone Key)

With Nana back in the tower, you now have two more options added before you go to missions: Mechaniloid Deployment, and if you're playing the GCN version, Treasure Navi. See these two sections for more information.

Now, the Resistance wants to recruit Prof. Guadile, a Force Metal researcher. However, Guadile doesn't like war, so he's shut himself in his lab, and with the Rebellion also wanting him, there's no time to waste. You're going to have to go and break into his lab to keep Guadile from being coerced into working for the Rebellion! Be sure to go spend any Figure Tokens and buy items you need for this next mission before you go. Once you're ready, talk to Nana to begin the mission.

Inside the lab, take the route east. You'll end up facing three gatekeepers, and one of them is a Preon Elite. It likes to use Riot to beserk your characters and then Order to focus on one character so that everyone attacks that character (including your Beserked members!). Make sure to use Coolers as soon as this happens. Btw, try to steal from the Preon Elite to net an Exodus Force Metal. Trust me. You'll be happy you did come later levels. Once these three are done, enter the door to get a cutscene with a female ninja. This is Marino, and she's here to get the Force Metal Generator. Also, she's one of the two characters you'll get here, but more on that later. Once the cutscene ends, keep going the way you were going. If you go to where Marino went, you'll find it's locked... unless you have the Treasure Navi, that is. See the Treasure Token Walkthrough for more information. Take the lift up to the next level.

When you get there, you will find a deactivated Preon Unit. Send it back to base so you can send it out on a deployment mission later on. In the next area, there is two Figure Tokens. Go east to find a Cooler, Cure One, and a Vaccine Program.

Watch out for the red squares in this next part. These are the security system in this area, so if you step on them, you will be forced into a battle. However, weither you win or run, the tile will be deactivated for a little bit, so you might want to. If not, just dash over them. The area up ahead has a 25 Tank Energy and a Save Point. Afterwards, take the south door. It'll dead-end, but there's a lot to get here. Go west first to get five Figure Tokens. Head east to get a deactivated Big Monkey, Protect +1, Tank Parts, 600z, and 50 Tank Energy. Head back to the room with the Save Point. Now take the northern door. In this part, run past the moving security tile instead of dashing. If you dash, you'll land on the second one. Once you're past the moving one, dash over the twin ones. Head into the door ahead to find the Rebellion's Dr. Psyche. He's after Guadile as well, and he doesn't want you stopping him, so get set to battle another pair of Preon Elites.

After the battle, a cutscene will play, and you'll meet Cinnamon, who's also the Force Metal Generator. She's talking to Marino atm, and Psyche's not too happy. Once that's done, grab the Build WE, Build LE, and a LE +100. Take the door south.

For this group of sensors, slip past the first one normally. Next, time a dash so that you land in the area between the two secuity panel groups that's been vacated by the moving panel. Finally, dash quickly over the second pair before the moving panel comes back. You've got one more set of panels to deal with, and this one is a bit trickier. I've been caught by this set many a time. To get to the space between the two sets of panels, stand a bit from the base of the ramp and dash. If timed correctly, you should be in the area between the two panel groups. From there, dash over the second set and take the door ahead.

In this area, take the first fork south to get two Figure Tokens and a Queen of Hearts for Spider. Head east to get a 50 Tank Energy. Go north to get to the lift. In this next area, stay on the path to get a Cure All and 1000z. You'll soon reach a Save Point and Guadile, but unfortunately, Cinnamon has been captured by Psyche. Time to rescue her! Go south to head after them. In the hallway ahead, grab the Build Armor, Gain WE +5, and Build Speed. In the next room, grab the two Figure Tokens and enter the door.

What you are now in is the Eternal Forest, a sort of Lost Woods, if you want to think about it. I'm only going to tell you the quickest route to get to Cinnamon, but if you want to come back later and try to get the other items that can be found here, go to the Alternate Eternal Forest Paths section to learn what waits ahead, how difficult it is, and what prizes can be done. Note that the more red paths you take will get you harder battles, so if you don't think you're ready for them, come back after you've leveled up some. To get to the next area quickly, take the blue path twice. Sure, it only gets you a 25 Tank Energy, but you can come back later for the rest of the goodies. Note that after you make your decision, you'll meet a Reploid with a fight for you before you can pass through. Once you do, though, the door will lock behind you. After you're done in the Eternal Forest, head down the ramp to find the thief Marino unconscious. She took a beating from Psyche's goons, but when she wakes up, she's ready to help kick some ass. Also, you can now switch out characters since you have four characters. Those not in the battle will still get EXP, so don't worry about putting Massimo back there.

Once Marino has joined the party, go to the nortwest room to get a 50 Tank Energy, Reboot, Cure One, and a Deactivated Mettaur. Head on to find a Save Point. After the Save Point, head into the next hallway to find a Gain Hyper and 100 Tank Energy. Go back to the Save Point and prepare yourself before saving. Head back to the hallway and go through the large doors to find Dr. Psyche and Cinnamon.

*WARNING!* Dr. Psyche
Psyche is annoying, to say the least. With his first move, he summons some Needles, which makes you have to focus on them rather than Psyche himself. Psyche is fast too, so be careful. He gets to be tougher in his second form, but we'll come to that later.

How to beat him: The key to winning is to destroy Psyche's Needles before his next turn. The way to do this is to have X ready with a Charge Shot and Spider equipped with one of his Spade weapons and keep his WE over 75%. For the third party member, I'd go with Marino, since she's fast. Make sure to equip her with the Item Capture rather than Spider so that she can take Psyche's two items. Also, do NOT use your Hyper Modes yet. You'll see what I mean come the next part. It'll take a bit before Psyche goes down, but he's certainly not out.

Once X and the others have defeated Psyche, a cutscene happens. Psyche's head pops off and attaches to a large machine, the Mad Nautilus. Get ready for round 2!

*WARNING!* Mad Nautilus

This version is VERY ANNOYING, since you can't attack without him countering you. Make sure to follow EXACTLY what I say in the next part to win this battle.

How to beat him: As I said before, you can't attack him constantly since he'll counter every move you do. So, how do you defeat him? Well, block a lot and wait for when you get the prompt that he's opening up the bulkhead (you'll see it as well). As soon as he does this, unload on him with Hyper Modes (Marino's is VERY fast here) and Action Triggers until he closes his bulkhead. When he does, Cooldown and go back to blocking. The exception to this is Spider's Trickster, since he can't be hit in it. Use the Item Capture to get his two items and the Get Zenny+ to get a lot more Zenny from him as well. Be wary about Nautilus' Mad Cocktail, since this can cause your characters to go Beserk, and that's a VERY bad thing here as I said earlier. Use Coolers ASAP when this happens. Once Nautilus is down for the count, you'll get a brand new Sub Tank and a Virus Missile. Also, say hello to new teammates Cinnamon and Guadile, since they'll be working with you as well! This ends this chapter.

If you come back to the room where you fought Psyche later on, you'll find a deactivated Dober Man for your deployment. It needs a Bone Key, which you can find in the Eternal Forest, so come back for it once you have that item.
