Stones

Stones are the power source of the ATAC. In addition to starting the things (which beats the hell out of the old coal-powered method), they also boost certain stats and contain their own elemental property for using advanced attacks. Each stone has a "Level"; the higher the level, the more attacks and spells you will be able to use. Keep in mind that your stats need to be at a certain point before learning these abilities though. The stats you need for each spell or attack are in their respective sections; Spells and Attacks.

There are 4 types of stones in this game which each correspond to the 4 elements: Earth, Wind, Fire and Water.

Refer to the tables below for information on where to purchase these stones and exactly what each one does. Also, please note that some stones are considered "legendary" and cannot be removed from their corresponding ATACs. They will be listed on a separate table at the bottom of the page.

NOTE: In the shop column, where I list the shops to buy each item, a K beside a chapter number indicates the shop you can purchase it in the Kingdom or Ruin Branch, whereas an E indicates the Empire branch.

EARTH:

Earth related stones focus around increasing your BAS stat, and teaching earth attacks such as Earthquake and Quicksand, as well as Support Abilities such as Gaia Protect and Earth Heal. Not very powerful for attacking, but very good for weaker characters, as they allow the use of Earth Heal, which has unlimited uses (okay, just one, but it's a darn good one!)

Name Of Stone and Level Where to Purchase Cost Effects on Stats Spells Taught Attacks Taught
Onyx (Level 1) Shop 1 (Chapter 4) 2000 NONE Turn Quake NONE

WATER:

Water related stones like to beef up your DEF stat, and teach you water attacks such as Mirage Mist and Ice Shards, as well as some good Support Abilities like Cooling Mist, which recovers some FP. Generally, Reyna should be one of the only people equipping Water Stones, to learn her special attack.

Name Of Stone and Level Where to Purchase Cost Effects on Stats Spells Taught Attacks Taught

FIRE:

Fire stones are for the power-hungry warriors, and these stones fire up your POW stat. They will teach you some of the better attacks in the game, such as the powerful Fireball and Flare Bomb, as well as some interesting Support Abilities. Fire elemental Stones are excellent early in the game when you need power, but later on, you'll be using a lot of Wind Stones for Turbulence. Keep Devlin with a Fire Stone to get his special attack near the end of the game, and give Claire one as well.

Name Of Stone and Level Where to Purchase Cost Effects on Stats Spells Taught Attacks Taught

WIND:

Speed kills, and that's why Wind Stones are so useful. They boost up your AGL stat, and teach you valuable abilities such as the omni-useful Turbulence and Wind Strike, as well as the Support Ability Roaring Wind. I highly recommend using these on characters such as Cecilia, Andrew, and Franco, to make them even more useful.
