Important Battlefield Events:
- As Zakov continues to take damage, he gradually becomes more and more peeved, which increases his POW.
Strategy
The Sharkings are very powerful, as you may have already known from playing through the Kingdom Branch. Zakov's is even MORE powerful, and he has the Assassinate ability, so it's VERY important that you don't let him hit you in the back.
There are two ways to approach this mission. If you're feeling lucky, run in with your team bunched up in a group (Bastion should be in range to be able to heal everyone) and throw everything you have at one Sharking at a time, getting it's FP up with Turbulence, and finishing it off with Wind Strike or other powerful attacks. This is very dangerous though, as while you are setting up your team formation, the Sharkings have a clear shot at you, in which one will most likely hide behind the hedge and toss Cutting Wheels at you, which you can NOT afford to be hit by. This way is quicker, but much more dangerous. However, it's possible to win like this if you spread out your attacks. Sharkings will choose not to do anything on their turns if their FP is too high (around 60 or so) and with this information, it is possible to let a Sharking get a hit in, then dizzy it, while getting another Sharking's FP up with high enough to cancel it's attacks. The general rule when dealing with Sharkings is to never let them attack, and this couldn't be more true here.
If this isn't to your liking (though I recommend it), you can take a slower and more tedious approach, yet a much safer one. Bunch your team up in a similar formation so that you're hiding behind the bush closest to the bridge and let the Sharkings come to you.
Regardless of what you do, make sure you concentrate on taking down the Imperials before Zakov. Zakov is very hard to kill, and while you're attempting to, the Sharkings will eat you alive. It's better to try and keep his FP up around 60 once he moves towards you so that he doesn't attack, while taking out the Imperials, who are easier to defeat. Once you get down to one Sharking and Zakov, the fight becomes MUCH easier.
Now that the mission is complete..
- IF you move on to Mission 39 (the Sadira ending path), Cecilia leaves your party.
- You move on to either Mission 39 or 42.
Before beginning the next mission, watch the scene. If the opening line by Logan is "Congratulations on your victory!", then you're headed for the Sadira ending. If the opening line is "I take it you were able to repel their attack, Sadira?", then it's the Cecilia ending for you.
Now save, load stats and Interview if you want to, though it serves no purpose at this point. Check the Briefing for an overview of what's next, and when you're ready, head to either Mission 39: Howl of the Ice Wolf (Sadira's ending) or Mission 42: Zulwarn's Heartbeat (Cecilia's ending).
