- Ganlon begins the battle with only 126 of his 136 HP because Bastion doesn't like him.
- If Ganlon is reduced to half of his HP (68 to be exact), he flees the battle.
- You cannot win or lose this battle; if Bastion loses all of his HP or defeats all of the ATAC on the battlefield, the mission ends.
- Bastion is angry in this mission, so his attack power is quite high, but his accuracy seems to be lower.
Strategy
Leave it to Bastion to follow orders, huh? Well, now that you're in this pickle of a predicament, we might as well walk out of it with as much EXP as possible!
Start by beating on Ganlon, but from the FRONT. Yes, you won't do as much damage, and yes he will counterattack, but sneaking up behind him actually means you'll have LESS of a chance of hitting him. His evasion is high, and if he chooses to attack rather than Avoid, you have a much better chance of hitting him and getting his FP up! Attack him again, which if he responds in kind, should get his FP up to 100, or perhaps even end the battle for him! That's one less pain in the ass...
Ganlon's evade is high, so if you miss an attack, you may want to reload your game and try again. Try and take him out in the first two of Bastion's turns, and thus you won't be surrounded by Kingdom forces, who don't actually move until their second turns. Of course, during this time you should move Cecilia westward. We're going to run her over to the bridge on the west.
Once Ganlon has been beaten, the Imperials will be pretty darn close to reaching the Kingdom troops. Get Bastion and Cecilia over to the western bridge and wait for your enemies to come to you. The soldiers will come, but they will most likely engage you one at a time, all in the while beating up on each other. You get to clean house and steal some of the kills though!
Zakov is now your biggest threat., but he's worth good EXP, so we want to kill him too! Let the foolish soldiers beat up on one another, and Zakov just might come in and strike one. If he reveals his back to you, it's not because he likes you. However, it does open a very good opportunity to do a large amount of damage to him. Be careful when attacking him; he'll counterattack with a POWERFUL Str. Slash that can decimate your HP total. It's better to have Cecilia use Turbulence (which she hopefully has earned) to boost up his FP, while Bastion finishes it off. Relentless aggression is indeed powerful, but it won't get you far if you're killed by counterattacks!
Try and take down everything on the battlefield, gaining levels for Bastion and Cecilia by splitting the kills the right way. If you've been boosting Bastion's BAS a lot since about Mission 4, you can actually have Second Attack by this mission. I had him on Level 14 about halfway through this mission, and I learned it just then. Very handy to have, but watch your FP when you use it!
Now that the mission is complete..
- Franco, Halak and Sadira rejoin your party!
- You move on to Mission 29
Before beginning Mission 29, save, load stats from Options screen and then Interview. Check the Briefing for an overview of what's next, and when you're ready, head to Mission 29: Bastion's Secret.
