Important Battlefield Events:
- 48 turns after the start of the battle, Imperial General and Imperials 1-11 join the fight from the sides of the map. The battle becomes a 3-way fight, where the Imperials first try and eliminate the Nordilians, and then you.
Strategy
Looking at the amount of enemies in this mission, you may feel a bit overwhelmed. Take some consolation in the fact that the Imperials and the Nordilians actually battle each other as well as you, with the Imperials focusing on the Nordilians, and the Nordilians usually going after you.
I like to begin the battle by moving in and hitting some of the Nordilians with long-range attacks (Turbulence). Concentrate on one at a time, and get it dizzied, then finish it off. Note that the Nordilians don't actually start moving until their second turn, so you should be able to take at least one down. All this Turbulencing is sure to boost YOUR FP too, so have Reyna run in and soak your weary ATACs in a Pouring Rain. If you continue to pound the enemy with Turbulence, the Nordilians won't get very many attacks in. Just MAKE SURE you don't hit 100 FP, or you're in for it. At this point, everyone should have their ultimate attacks (aside from Soaring Dance maybe), so don't worry too much about who kills what.
You may want to hold off on killing the Nordilians, though. When the Imperials show up, they will attack the Nordilians, leaving themselves open. That's your chance to stab the Imperials in the back. If you leave them alone, they will certainly kill the Nordilians, aside from Logan, who will Raging Heat his way through a few foolish Imperials who dare attack him. Turn Attack Animation on for this; it's hilarious to see!
Keep your team in groups, and don't stray too far from the start. Logan and his daughter (and Shion) will come down to you, fighting Imperials as well. Keep your groups close, and have Bastion heal the needy, but try not to allow your characters to fall low on HP. Focus your attacks on the Imperials, because they are the immediate threat, and they will target you first (though I recommend you take down Claire ASAP). Like I said earlier, don't worry about who kills what; getting out of this battle alive is more important. Attack a lot, but also watch your FP; ESPECIALLY Andrew's FP, because his DEF is quite low. Send Alden after the Imperial General, as he does quite well against them. Zeira and Andrew should do what they do well; Turbulence from a distance. Once you've cut a swathe through the battlefield, you can bunch your guys together, heal a bit, and concentrate on dealing with Logan.
As you may have figured, at this point, you have the advantage. Logan will descend from the northern parts of the screen 1 turn after he defeats the second foolish Imperial that attacks him. Be prepared for him; when he's in Turbulence range, hit him with as many Turbulences as you can to get his FP up. From there, move in and dismantle him! Funny how what could have been the most dangerous part of the battle ends up being the easiest.
Now that the mission is complete..
- You move on to Mission 21
Before beginning Mission 21, save your game and load stats from the Options screen (do this after every mission to be safe), and head to the Interview screen and cheer up your men. Take a minute to think about what you have just done (that was SOME battle!), then check the Briefing for an overview of what's next, and when you're ready, head to Mission 21: Zulwarn Unleashed. Oh.... crap.
