There are 2 different maps for chapter 23, one with Linus and the other with Lloyd as the boss. You'll get this map if the total level of your Lords is below 50, Lloyd's map if it is 50 and above.

Use your torches, send out a small group to recruit Wallace and get the treasures from the village near Wallace and the upper village.
The rest of your army should stay and guard the area around you, mainly the two fortress above you and the wodden bridge next to Merlinus.

Boss Strategy:
Lloyd has low defense, so use your high strength units to attack, and he does move around, so watch out.
