Star Pieces

There are exactly 100 Star Pieces that can be found throughout Mario's adventure. You can trade these to Dazzle, who lives near Merluvlee beneath Rogueport, for some unique Badges. There are just enough Star Pieces to buy everything from Dazzle.
Some of the Star Pieces are in plain sight. Others are hidden under panels; you can't destroy these panels unless until you get the Super Boots. Spin Jump near the panel, and you'll reveal the Star Piece. Ms. Mowz is extremely helpful in finding Star Pieces, since she'll let you know if there's still an item hidden on the screen, and will point in the direction of whatever's hidden.

Rogueport

1	There is a Star Piece on top of Zess T.'s roof (Head left from the Lovely Howz of Badges until you reach the wall, then walk upward).
2	There is a Star Piece hidden behind the the boxes in the lower-right portion of central Rogueport.
3	There is a Star Piece hidden in the messy house in the back alley of Rogueport.
4	There is a Star Piece hidden beneath a panel in front of the gallows in Central Rogueport.
5	There is a Star Piece hidden beneath a panel in front of Professor Frankly's house.
6	There is a Star Piece hidden beneath a panel near the stairs in Rogueport Port.
7	There is a Star Piece hidden beneath a panel in Rogueport's back alley, directly behind Zess T.'s house.
8	There is a Star Piece hidden behind the boxes behind Darkly in the back alley of East Rogueport.
9	There is a Star Piece hidden behind the right part of the wall surrounding the flower field in West Rogueport.
10	There is a Star Piece hidden behind the pipe that leads out of the sewer in the flower field in West Rogueport.

22	There is a Star Piece hidden beneath a panel in the east part of the sewer (Where you fought 3 Goombas in the prologue).
23	There is a Star Piece hidden beneath a panel in the lower part of the room with the Thousand-Year Door (Directly below the pedestal).
24	There is a Star Piece hidden beneath a panel directly below the black chest.
25	There is a Star Piece hidden beneath a panel just before the pipe that leads to Boggly Woods.
26	There is a Star Piece hidden in the background in the screen west of the town (You need Yoshi to reach the pipe that leads there).
27	There is a Star Piece hidden in the abandoned house in the east part of the sewers (You need to use the Spring Jump to travel past the pipe in the water that leads to Petal Meadows).

Petal Meadows

32	Use your hammer on the first tree in the left-most screen of Petal Meadows to reveal a Star Piece.
33	There is a Star Piece in the background area in the screen just west of Petalburg.
34	There is a Star Piece hidden in the first bush to the east of Petalburg.

Petalburg

35	There is a Star Piece beneath a panel near Bub-ulber in Western Petalburg.
36	There is a Star Piece beneath a panel just above the flower patch in the lower part of Eastern Petalburg.

Hooktail Castle

37	In the room past the Red Bones, ride the big yellow block up to find a Star Piece on a high ledge.
38	In the room past the Red Bones, ride the small purple block up and go into the next room to find a Star Piece on a high ledge.
39	There is a Star Piece on the right part of the window ledge in the room where Mario is required to walk out on the window ledge.
40	There is a Star Piece on the narrow ledge in the room where Mario is required to navigate the narrow ledge.
41	There is a Star Piece hidden beneath a panel in the left-most jail cell of the room with Kolorado's dad's bones.

Boggly Woods

42	There is a Star Piece on the left-most stump in the screen past the screen that leads to the Great Tree.
43	In the screen that leads to Flurrie's house, hit the third tree with your hammer to reveal a Star Piece.
44	There is a Star Piece hidden to the left of the pipe that leads to Flurrie's House.
