Deathblows

Here is a list of all Deathblow sequences in the game. T, X, and S refer to T=Triangle button, X=X (Cross) button, S=Square button. The Deathblows are all learned at the same level for all characters, although some of the 7 AP sequences are different (refer to Notes option). Don't forget that combos that require 7 AP can only be used after visiting Shevat.

The simple but most effective way to learn Deathblows: instead of using Deathblows you have already learned, try using the last Deathblow you could reach (when you have only six AP, the sequence would be X, X). All the lower Deathblows will slowly develope while you train. after you've reached 100% in your last Deathblow, start training the next Deathblow directly below it (there's a good chance you'll have learned it by now or be at 90%). If a Deathblow learning rate doesn't advance at all, try changing the Deathblow you're using until it starts working.

Gear Deathblows work in a different way. First of all, it's a 2-button sequence (and in some cases, only one button). Level 1 Deathblows always start with Triangle, Level 2 ones start with Square, Level 3 ones start with Cross, and Hyper-Deathblows are only usable if you have a Deathblower equipped or by reaching level infinity (You'll only be able to use those later in the game...the percentage at the side of the screen shows your chance of reaching Hyper-Mode). Remember, the more character Deathblows you have, the more gear Deathblows will be available.

Notes: Maria has no character Deathblows and Chu-Chu has no character or gear Deathblows. Rico and Emeralda's 7 AP Deathblows have different elements than the standard (Fei, Citan, Bart, and Elly follow the elementals in the table).
