MinMin!
Much like the first chapter, you'll begin the MinMin chapter with the Wand, in addition to the theme weapon, a Harmonica. After talking to Ms. Asagiri, you'll be transported near this dog. If you talk to the dog, he'll give you a Bone, which isn't too useful at this part of the game. What you should do instead, though, is use the want to transform into MinMin. By pressing the A button, you can fly in MinMin form. Do so and you'll hop over the fence and run into Ichiya, MinMin's boyfriend. He will join you on your search for the real MinMin at this point. |
In the blue-roofed house near where Ichiya joined, you can find a Bus Pass, which can transport you to the main portion of the town. |
However, there's still one thing you need to do before you take the bus. Head south and into this house to run into Kunitachi, Ichiya's friend. Like many characters in this game, he's apparently possessed, so knock some some sense into him, grab the Bun from the chest in his house, then head to the bus stop and travel to the main town. |
The main town consists of six portions in a rectangular pattern, just like the town in the Goldfish Warning! chapter. This town has all the regular amenities, so feel free to upgrade your equipment if you feel the need to. In the southeast corner, you can fly behind the Nakayoshi Phone in MinMin form, as shown, where you can trip and find some Marbles. |
When you're done exploring the town, head to the park, which is in the upper-central portion of town. You will find Shiva, the assistant to Amon, another character from the manga, here. Defeat him and he'll give you 500 Peach. That is, unless you forgot to pick up the Ring in the first chapter, in which case he'll give you the Ring now. |
There's no baloon-inflating clown at this park, but since you can transform into MinMin, go ahead and just fly to the southern part of the park after defeating Shiva. You'll find an entrance to cave. The first thing you should do in this cave is find the God of Happiness, who will give you a free Bun. |
The only other thing to do in this maze is to head to the northeast corner, defeat the enemy here and open the chest, which will net you the second Gold Gem. |
Getting the Gold Gem will instantly transport you to the Magic World, a magical realm MinMin, Shiva, Amon and Loki are from. Speaking of Loki, travel to the northwest corner of this area to find him in a house. He'll upgrade your Quartz into a Crystal for talking to him, and will then heal you for free as many times as you want. You may want to take advantage of this by defeating the enemy just outside his house, which drops Gummies. You can defeat this enemy, collect some Gummies, heal yourself for free, defeat the enemy again, get some more Gummies and repeat as many times as you want. |
When you're ready, go the southeast corner of the Magic World, and make your way into this house here. You can fight your way in only if you've already visited Loki. |
The inside of the house is rather similar to that of the mansion in the Pocket Park chapter. Keep going through until you reach this room. If you go up the stairs here, you'll see the real MinMin, but her room is locked. So, instead, head to the north. Keep in mind that defeating this enemy yields some Cookies, which is the most potent food in the game. Be sure to save them for a rainy day. |
You'll eventually reach another fork in the road, where you can either go up a flight of stairs or down another flight. Head up the stairs first and keep going until you reach Amon, Ichiya's rival. When you defeat him he'll give you a Key. |
Now keep going down stairs until you reach Waruji. Waruji is the first of three villains that don't belong to any of the manga in this game. You cannot run from this battle, so make sure you're ready before you begin it. As you might have guessed from his sprite, Lightning magic will do you no good here but everything else is fair game. Beat him and you'll get the key to MinMin's room. |
Now you can reaturn to the first forked path in the house, go up the stairs and rescue MinMin. Huzzah. |
