3B - Battle on the Vesuvia
|
Now, this stage is all about Money. No changing that. First of all, YOU control if there are any fights. Being aware of that, I'll direct you to most of the money bags, attempting to skip all battles possible - There *will* be one, though. |
Move to the back of the raft ASAP, then move towards the top of the screen. You'll fight if your raft even scrapes an enemy sprite, so make your life easy and just fight the top-most Trogdolyte. Meet the Trogdolytes, KILL, and then CONTINUE PUSHING UP for.. |
|
|
.. Voilá, Cash, LOVELY CASH.. You'll pick a small fortune, but watch out for the encounters, AND the (Undefeatable.. for now..) Black Dragon that appears as a damage-dealing penalty if it takes you more than 30 seconds to reach the first ... |
.. Checkpoint. Here, you gain an extra 30 secs, and now push DOWN, since this route nets you 500SP bags aplenty. Watch out for encounters again and head into the waterfall.. |

Great. Voices in your head. The voice'll give you info about your enemy, Synn, who just happens to be a HUMONGOUS RED DRAGON, the Legendary Ice, Fire and Lightning Blades, or FINAL STRIKE, the spell which you'll be pretty darn lucky to see if you have a party of three who know that they're doing. Move along. |
No turning back, huh? Those scorpions pose no real threat, so hack 'em up and move along. Chests provide basic supplies (Potions, rings..). The top-most big chest is trapped, by the way. The tremors seem to be a prelude to something bigger... |

Indeed. The (If you play with a party) Man-Scorpion(s) attack(s). Give him a taste of lightning bolts in the form of spells or rings, they seem to be plenty effective against him. You can also safely spam attack spells and heals, since you'll regain spells after this fight. His primary modes of attack are "Dynamite Jumps", which explode the area underneath him in Fireball fashion, Scythe Slashes and Scythe Blade throws. When in serious trouble, it can emit a petrifying beam. Dodge it by moving up or down. Due to it's constant movement, it's advised you keep your weaker characters in the rear or the flank.
Defeating the beast nets you passage to Glantri via a shop. Stock, heal, and move on. |
