Beastiary: Part 3 of 4: Mysteryland and Ocean Enemies

Beastiary: Part 3. You'll find these enemies on and around the third continent, Mysteryland. Also, the water enemies will be found in the ocean around the continent. Again, note that they have higher levels and different battle music than the older enemies.

I've split the Beastiary into 4 sections, based on the 4 continents of the game. I have also arranged all the info into a table. You should know that by now!

Mysteryland and surrounding waters Enemies
Enemy Name Level Location Enemy Type EXP/Sen Picture Strategy
Goldbot LV 15 Arcadia Area, Temple Bayon, Sunken Ship Small Enemy 34 exp/42 sen Pretty much the same as the Greybots way back at the beginning, except a little smarter and tougher. No special weapons to worry about.
Jungleman LV 16 Mysteryland Continent, Ghoulland, Temple Bayon Small Enemy 50 exp/46 sen This guy has a mean hand-mounted claw that he will sometimes shoot out at you. It would be best to jump at this enemy rather than walking up and punching. Sometimes appears with UFOMan, and can also summon HugeApe.
Terrordactyl LV 17 Mysteryland Continent, Temple Bayon, Ghoulland Flying Enemy 240 exp/126 sen Another type of Flying Enemy, this one drops spears that explode when they hit the ground, shooting a vertical stream of fire.
Uglyhead LV 18 Mysteryland Area, Ghoulland, Temple Bayon Medium Enemy 200 exp/160 sen These guys are GREAT for building up EXP and Sen at the Mysteryland section of the game, as they are common, attack in fairly large groups, and are very easy to defeat. Just look out for the rocket hand attack they use when they pause for a second.
UFOMan LV 16 Temple Bayon, Ghoulland Dancing Enemy 400 exp/300 sen A much tougher version of the Dancing Enemy, UFOMan is quite fast and attacks quickly after appearing. You really have to keep your eye on this one. When he does appear, try and give him a Cyclone Kick! Appears with Jungleman, but never fights alone.
HugeApe LV ?? (Doesn't tell) Appears during certain fights after time Huge Enemy 400 exp/400 sen If you fight a group of Junglemen in the rainforest areas of Mysteryland, chances are one of these guys will show up. If it does appear, switch to T-Stars and keep tossing em until the big monkey explodes! Uwehehehehe! Worth a good amount of EXP and Sen, too!
1-Eyed Monkey LV ?? (Doesn't tell) Appears during certain fights after time Huge Enemy 400 exp/400 sen This is the Japanese version of Giantape. More or less the same thing.
Pyramid LV 21 Temple Bayon, Ghoulland Large Enemy 600 exp/400 sen Yes, you read correctly. These guys are worth 600 exp a piece! Run in and Cyclone Kick them over and over again until they say "No More!". Remember though: these guys take a lot of hits, and they can fly across the screen.
Tangoman Of The Pitts Gang LV ?? (Not Told) Talk to Tangoman in Temple Bayon Small Enemy 240 exp/300 sen One of the four "Bosses" of Temple Bayon. They move quite fast, and toss boomerang-axes across the screen! If you have 12 M points, you might want to use Ninja Cyclone on these guys to kill them instantly.
Strawbear Of The Pitts Gang LV ?? (Not Told) Talk to Strawbear in Temple Bayon Medium Enemy 240 exp/220 sen Much easier to beat than Tangoman, these guys are nothing to worry about aside from the little claw attack they use. But even then, nothing to worry about at all.
Sourface Of The Pitts Gang LV ?? (Not Told) Talk to Sourface in Temple Bayon Flying Enemy 900 exp/1000 sen This guy climbs around the ceiling, dropping down to hit you with it's spiked head every once in a while. It also shoots webbing which seriously slows down your movement. Use Ninja Cyclone to defeat Sourface quickly. You'll be glad you did.
Coren Of The Pitts Gang LV ?? (Not Told) Talk to Coren in Temple Bayon. Flying Enemy 1200 exp/900 sen I hope to god that you have at least 3 spare M points by the time you get to this guy, so you can use Ninja Cyclone. If you don't, be prepared for a tough fight. The floor in Coren's room is made of conveyor belts, and the walls are covered in spikes. Be sure to kill Coren before he uses his singing attack, or be a pincushion ^_^ .
Smoochy LV 18 Ocean, Sunken Ship Small Enemy 56 exp/58 sen I don't think I really need to list any strategies for this particular enemy. It's very easy to kill, and has no special moves at it's disposal. Appears with it's "boyfriend" Gilly, but never alone.
Gilly LV 18 Ocean, Sunken Ship Small Enemy 60 exp/50 sen Fights in the same fashion as Jungleman, and even has the same hand-claw attack! Use the same strategies as before. Appears with Seaslime or with it's "girlfriend", Smoochy.
Seaslime LV 20 Ocean Dancing Enemy 400 exp/200 sen Like the UFOMan enemies from earlier, except even faster, as well as the fact that when you fight them underwater, you will be slower. Use the Turtle Watch to even the odds if you need to, and keep a close eye on them. Sometimes appears with Gilly.
Swordfish LV 21 Ocean, undersea depths Small Enemy 54 exp/68 sen Not only are they smarter, faster and tougher to beat than any other Small Enemy so far, they also have the advantage of speed, as they can move fast underwater, whereas you cannot. The Cyclone Kick works well on these guys.
StarRider LV 21 Ocean, undersea depths 2-Stage Enemy 54 exp/68 sen If I were you (which I'm not), I'd stay away from these things. 2-Stage enemies are hard enough underwater, and to make it worse, they just turn into Swordfish.
Shellfish LV 22 Ocean, undersea depths Flying Enemy 400 exp/600 sen See those things flying behind it? Well, this guy drops those on you, and it's harder to dodge them while underwater. Fight this enemy at your own risk: it's like any other Flying Enemy, but a little tougher because it's underwater.
Skullshell LV 24 Ocean, undersea depths, Train to Athletown Large Enemy 700 exp/625 sen If you're like me, you'll WANT to run into this enemy, mainly because he's worth 700 exp a pop! That's not bad for a Large Enemy with no special abilities that you should know how to kick the crap out of by now!
First Mate LV 22 Sunken Ship 1-Hit Enemy 160 exp/64 sen These guys usually attack in large groups (up to 8!). A little tougher to kill because of the underwater factor, but worth the effort.
Mimic LV 25 Sunken Ship Flying Enemy 400 exp/236 sen Yes, I did name these guys after the FF9/Vagrant Story/Dragon Warrior 7 Mimics. Anyways, these things are rather tough to hit, and can turn you to stone with their bombs. I don't bother fighting them.
Guard Fish LV 22 Sunken Ship Medium Enemy 300 exp/220 sen The elite fish-security of the Sunken Ship. Just like any other Medium enemy. Just look out for that spear: these guys can spin them pretty fast!
