Magic
There are three types of magic spells in Musashi. The spells Musashi can cast, the spells Tanuki can cast, and the spells enemies cast.

Tanuki's Spells
First thing about Tanuki is that you don't control him. He'll just attack or cast a spell whenever he feels like it. Tanuki starts with no spells. Every time you find "Happa" in a pot, Tanuki will gain a level, and with that, he'll learn a spell. You can check which level Tanuki is on by going to your item list and looking at the top of the screen (keep in mind that he starts at level 0)
