Battle of Strong Oak

Some foreboding, fiends rising and no adventurers returning. The giant tree Strong Oak. Guarded by a manticore. No worries, provided you stocked up after the last stage. The old "Block after knocking down"-trick should suffice. Just knock 'im over again. Move along.
Entry Level. Firetraps and a few chests (lower one has earrings, useful for your casters, above one has healing items). In the middle part, you'll encounter Gnolls and Skeletons (happy turning!) with Oil-throwing Kobolds. You can skip the skeletons near the end of this level when you see the exit.
Second Level. Annoying one, as the fires burn you and not the hellhounds (immune to fire-based spells too!), and the arrow traps are a pesky obstacle. You can see them in advance if you have a thief in your party. First chest is locked with an Egg of Wonder, while the second one is fire-trapped with potions and a lightning ring. You can run to the end right away past the level if you're bothered with the hounds.
Third Level. Introduces Gargoyles. Remember, they can only be defeated by magical attacks, so if you lack magical weaponry or are running low on spells, just run past this stage. Some Shadow Elves inhabit this level too, so watch your back. Nothing of importance here.
Fourth Level. Kobolds and more flames on the ground. Ring of Protection in the Big Chest and some minor treasure. In the middle part, Ghouls attack. This might be dangerous if you don't have a Cleric with you. To top it, some Shadow Elves will attack too. You can run from this one too, but you'll miss the chests without some careful maneuvering. (Top one contains a Healing Potion and Lightning Ring, middle one a new key and the last one has another Lightning Ring and a Diamond!) Prepare for the boss of the stage..
Synn and Nagpa. Guess not. It's Deimos, the Lich from the previous game! This could be the end.. if it weren't for the player(s). Although Deimos is a Lich, he's a bit too high-classed of an undead to be affected by Turn Undead. The Ghouls he can animate can be, homever. He's immune to 3rd level spells or lower, so save those for Haste if you're an elf, or just spam the higher level spells as Mage, since he'll regain his spells after this tussle.
As a Lich, Deimos is a powerful spellcaster, able to cast Lightning Bolt and a Wall of Fire around himself at will. Touching him will paralyze you (yeah, he's THAT powerful of an undead magic-user.) To top that, he's able to conjure up a METEOR STORM! No worries, though, for his circular levitation-type of movement allows you to trap him in the lower left corner. The Potion of Haste will help you as well. Fight!
Ooookay, as a 15-HD character, how could one be "inexperienced"? (Not to mention the fact elves are immune to magical sleep, but meh..) Plot holes. What sort of a devious plan could Synn be up to?
