Part 2 - Kaipo, to Antlion's Lair, to Rosa

In Kaipo, go to the house on the east side of town. Rosa is sick there and she needs the Light of the Desert to recover. But you need royalty of Damcyan to get near the Antlion's nest. Buy some more potions, one tent, and some weapons and armor. Then head north east toward a cave.
Here you see an old sage inside the cave. Talk to him and he says he needs to go to Damcyan because his daughter was taken away by a bard. He needs help to get past the Octomammoth so he joins up with Cecil and Rydia. You can go back to Kaipo to build up your levels but that doesn't matter. The cave is full of monsters so beware. Bolt works well against most enemies here.
You will come across a square with poles around it. This is a save spot where you can use tents to gain full HP and MP. In this case Tella uses one for the party. One screen above go directly to the left and there is a secret passage which leads to a PlumedHat.
You will reach outside and this is a good place to use another tent. You can use them in the overview map. Save also. Get ready because inside you will fight Octomammoth.
Here is Octomammoth. You fight each tentacle individually. He isn't all that hard. Just hack away at him with Cecil and have Tella and Rydia use Bolt. You can try for Tella to remember Bolt 3 but it doesn't matter. You should beat him without having to use any potions.
When you leave, walk north toward Damcyan. Right before you it is bombarded by Baron's airships. Damcyan is destroyed. Walk into it and go up the stairs. You can get one tent out of it.
The bard turns out to be Gilbert, prince of Damcyan. Anna died protecting him. Tella starts fighting him but Anna stops him. Tella is leaves in rage saying he will avenge her death. Gilbert, with both his parents dead and now Anna, has nothing left in his life. Rydia convinces him to join her and Cecil to go to Antlion's nest.
Go northeast on the hovercraft. The hovercraft can move over water if there are rocks underneath. Fly over the rocks and to the main piece of land.
Move south to a cave entrance; make sure you don't go into the mountain to the east instead. Inside is rather easy and you shouldn't encounter too many problems if you brought some potions. Rest at the save spot also.
When you meet up with Antlion, Gilbert goes to take the Light of the Desert but the Antlion attacks. No black magic works very well but if Rydia casts Chocobo, that proves to be very effective, taking off 150-200 HP. Have Cecil attack and have Gilbert use Heal or potions to keep the party's HP high. This should be another easy fight.
After you beat Antlion, leave and go back to the castle. Now move southwest toward some more rocks and cross those with the hovercraft. Then move southeast and you should be back at Kaipo.
Go back to where Rosa was and give her the Desert Light. This cures her and after a bit of talking, she joins you. The party decides to set off in the morning...
...But in the middle of night Gilbert goes outside and starts playing his harp. He is attacked by a Sahagin. Just attack until he hits (this might take a while because his hit percentage is low). Anna appears and tells him he's not such a wimp and then disappears.
Beat the monster with one more blow (which again might take a while). Anna appears again and says to Gilbert he should fight against Golbeze. She then disappears again and the scene ends.
