Beauty and the Beasts

Just west of the entrance to the Nation of Spaghetti is Macaroni Burg. Lots of good stuff to buy here, so pick up Flame 3, a Hotcut, a Bronze Shield and an Iron Helmet. While you're shopping, you're sure to notice this mysterious female fencer in the Armory. She'll ask you to join her resistance group. Since you don't have anything better to do, you might as well agree. At this point, she'll join you and ask you to accompany her to their base in the forest to the south. |
| Go into the forest to the south. Make your way to the north, then loop around the east and you'll come across the base. And then, SURPRISE SURPRISE, it turns out you've been traveling with Citrus Greene, another one of those princess-types. |  |

Citrus won't believe that you're who you are, so she'll add an extra "u" to her name and attack you. This is any easy battle. Just keep attacking and you should win easily. |
| At this point, Citrus will leave for a meeting. The meeting won't end until you talk to everybody in the base, so talk to them all and then go into Shrimp's tent to the north and talk to Citrus. Citrus again wants you to accompany her in her search for weapons, this time to Pasta Village to the south. |  |

Keep going south and you'll come across Pasta Village. The armory is closed due to the beauty pageant currently going on, but the magic shop is open. Freeze 3 and Heal 3 should be purchased. While you're here, you might as well enter Citrus into the beauty contest, right? Talk to Fifi, the coordinator, in the house in the upper-left portion of town. He says he'll enter Citrus into the pageant if you collect some special fruit. |
| Just east of Pasta Village is the Forest of the Fruit. Here you'll be able to find the Apple, Peach and Walnut, by examining special trees. The Bombers here can steal your fruit too, so be careful. If you're afraid of getting lost, consult the map. The first fruit you'll probably come across is the Apple. |  |

In the southwest portion of the forest, you can find the Peach... |
| ...And in the north, you'll find the Walnut. After you've collected the fruit and treasure in the forest, you can leave. |  |

Go back to Fifi after collecting all three fruits. He claims he'll somehow make a dress out of these fruits. We'll see. |
| Take a nap at the inn and return to Fifi. Wow, the dress is actually done. Citrus will then change her clothes RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. She's too quick for you to see anything, though. Rats. |  |

The pageant is being held in large building in the eastern part of the town. Talk to this fellow to get the ball rolling. |
| This pageant is crazy. The contestants generally have fucked up names (Carbo? BONGOLE?!), and the entire contest consists of them getting on stage and making strange grunting noises. With this kind of competition, it's not surprising that Citrus wins. But, alas, it was all an evil plot... Isn't it always? |  |

Time to fight Fifi. Surprisingly, he's not a poodle or a female skunk, but instead a lobster... This battle's not too tough... The Power spell works nicely. |
| After defeating Fifi, you can grab the "grand prize", which is in a treasure box in the pageant building's lobby. It's a Stabber. The armory is now open too, so treat yourself to an Iron Shield and Bronze Armor. |  |

Go back to the resistance base... It looks like more treachery was committed, and several of Citrus' companions have no HP left! |
| Examining Shrimp's tent will reveal that he has flown the coop. |  |

There's a canyon just west of Pasta Village. This is where Shrimp is hanging out. In a not-so shocking revelation, Shrimp was evil all along, and attacks you. Shrimp is like a more difficult version of Fifi, so defeat him with the same tactics. He hits hard, though, so be sure to watch your HP. |
| Citrus will give you her Ring, as a dramatic scene ensues. No matter what you do, your next destination will be the Nation of Escargot. |  |
