Front Mission Original Sound Version

Sound Design: Minoru Akao

Artwork Cover by: Yoshitaka Amano

PSCN-5019, Published by NTT Publishing, Released in 2/25/1995, 1 Disc (68:15 minutes)

I'd suggest you listen to all the tracks (I got the OSV recently), but if you're looking for the best, try all the slow-paced piano songs (Kalen, Natalie, Elegie), the ending themes (Within Living Memory, Next Resolution), Rage!Rage!Rage! and Martial Ecologist.

1. A Minefield (Yoko Shimomura) 1:26

Played during the introduction before the title screen, it pretty much fits the game's war-like mood.

2. Canyon Crow (Yoko Shimomura) 1:41

The Canyon Crow theme, rarely played during the game, a catchy song.

3. Rise To Action (Noriko Matsueda) 0:46

This fast-paced song is played when you reach the area right before the start of some missions.

4. Advanced Guard (Yoko Shimomura) 1:38

The regular mission theme, played while you move your wanzers.

5. Mercenaries (Yoko Shimomura) 1:54

This song is first played in Freedom City and is rather slow-paced for a mission theme, but good.

6. Take The Offensive (Yoko Shimomura) 1:39

Another mission theme, this one is more upbeat and is also played quite often.

7. The Evils Of War (Yoko Shimomura) 1:25

This mission theme is played in most missions when you're pretty much screwed (First Mission, Mission against Hell's Wall,etc.). There are exceptions like the Desert Battle, but that's beyond the point.

8. Decline (Yoko Shimomura) 1:26

This song is played when you're under a surprise attack later in the game.

9. Force Stall (Noriko Matsueda) 2:08

Theme played only during the Fort Monus attack, it doesn't fit very well into a mission theme in my opinion.

10. Manifold Irons (Yoko Shimomura) 2:41

Song played during the enemy's phase. It actually gets nicer later on but most players barely notice it.

11. Bloody Temperature (Noriko Matsueda) 1:47

Another enemy's phase theme, this one is kinda dark and depressive.

12. Relative Thinking (Noriko Matsueda) 1:23

Another mission theme played only later in the game, works well sometimes, but isn't my favorite.

13. Holic Shot (Yoko Shimomura) 0:58

Played in your attack turn, you'll hear this one quite often.

14. Hard Drag (Yoko Shimomura) 0:48

Played in the enemy's attack turn, hopefully you'll hear it less than Holic Shot :P.

15. More And More (Yoko Shimomura) 0:53

The Level up theme. A short, upbeat song, that you should listen until the end.

16. Win Back (Yoko Shimomura) 0:10

The Mission Complete theme.

17. Raise A Flag (Noriko Matsueda) 0:12

Another Mission Complete theme, I prefer this one.

18. The General Situation (Noriko Matsueda) 1:51

This song is played initially while you're in the map.

19. Shallow Twilight (Yoko Shimomura) 1:46

Later in the game, this song is played in the map and it sounds a lot darker compared to the previous song.

20. Optical City (Noriko Matsueda) 2:23

First Town theme, starts slow but eventually gets cooler.

21. Coaxial Town (Yoko Shimomura) 1:43

Second Town theme; probably the most regular town theme out of the 3 songs.

22. Field Hospital (Yoko Shimomura) 1:23

Third town theme; a more serious, apprehensive song.

23. Arena (Yoko Shimomura) 1:13

Guess :P. Played in the Colloseum, fast-paced and cool.

24. Shop (Noriko Matsueda) 1:37

Wanzer Shop Theme, kinda jazzy and technoish to me (Some will disagree...).

25. Bar (Noriko Matsueda) 1:26

The Bar theme, a jazzy piano song.

26. Setting Up (Yoko Shimomura) 1:14

Played while you're setting up your wanzers in the Shop, works perfectly for the situation.

27. Military Government (Noriko Matsueda) 1:29

Theme played mostly when Olson is briefing you on your next mission, has a serious mood.

28. Ominous (Noriko Matsueda) 1:18

Played in your first mission, just before Driscoll shows up; A song with misterious tones.

29. Martial Ecologist (Yoko Shimomura) 1:23

This is another "you're screwed" mission theme. Fast-paced and nice song.

30. Rage! Rage! Rage! (Yoko Shimomura) 1:02

This song, as the name suggests, is played when you're enraged (And sounds great). For example, when Karen dies.

31. Tension (Noriko Matsueda) 1:22

This is another mission briefing theme and a few other situations. Another title that fits the song well.

32. A Person Easily Elated (Noriko Matsueda) 1:16

This is Peewee's theme. Well, it's a funny song and plays only when he shows up to say something.

33. Kalen (Noriko Matsueda) 2:51

This is a very calm, soothing song, played when Lloyd has a flashback of Karen.

34. Elegie (Yoko Shimomura) 2:43

This piano song is played when Lloyd remembers his past, but in a rather sad way.

35. Natalie (Noriko Matsueda) 2:51

This is another nice piano song, played few times when Natalie speaks.

36. Fear (Noriko Matsueda) 1:42

A cool, dark theme played during some conversations between the villains.

37. Terrible Density (Noriko Matsueda) 2:03

This is an enemy's phase theme usually played in the "you're screwed" missions. It's also much better than the usual enemy's phase theme.

38. Mad Pressure (Noriko Matsueda) 1:15

This song is played during Bosses' attack turns.

39. Destructive Logic (Yoko Shimomura) 2:07

This song is played during your attack phase in the last mission. Kinda creepy, but has some awesome organs.

40. Defeated (Noriko Matsueda) 0:16

The game over theme.

41. Within Living Memory... (Noriko Matsueda) 4:47

This the ending theme, but is actually a longer version of "Kalen". Highly recommended.

42. Next Resolution (Noriko Matsueda) 2:08

This is another ending theme, except this one is really upbeat and encouraging.

Note: "Kalen" probably means Karen, but I'm following the soundtrack names. Same thing about Canyon Crow, I know the translation calls them Carrion Crow, but I'm followig the soundtrack list, ok?
