Trance 
 

As a character receives damage in battle, his or her trance gauge slowly fills.  After the gauge is full, a trance ability can be used.  These are different for each character.


Zidane "Skill" becomes "Dyne."  Zidane becomes stronger, and has access to a set of new MP-consuming abilities.

Deals physical damage to the enemy.

Tidal Flame
Deals physical damage to all enemies.
14 MP
Scoop Art
Deals physical damage to the enemy.
16 MP
Shift Break
Deals physical damage to all enemies.

Stellar Circle 5
Deals physical damage to the enemy.
32 MP
Meo Twister
Deals physical damage to all enemies.
48 MP
Solution 9
Deals physical damage to the enemy.
60 MP
Grand Lethal
Deals physical damage to all enemies.
Dagger "Summon" command becomes "Eidolon."  An eidolon summoned by Dagger continues to attack throughout the battle on her turns, rather than just for one turn.
Vivi "Blk Mag" becomes "Dbl Blk," allowing Vivi to cast two black magic spells on the same turn.  Trance also negates the silence condition.
Steiner During Trance, Steiner's attack and defense increase, and he deals extreme damage.
Quina "Eat" becomes "Cook."  This gives Quina a greater chance of eating an enemy, and reduces the amount of damage an enemy must have taken before it can be eaten.
Freya Freya becomes extremely strong during Trance.  Her Jump command causes her to stay in the air throughout the battle, raining spears on enemies at each turn.
eikosmall "Wht Mag" becomes "Dbl Wht."  Eiko is able to cast two white magic spells per turn, without being silenced.
Amarant "Flair" becomes "Elan."  Amarant's Flair abilities are the same, but now affect all enemies rather than just one.
