A2 Walkthrough

Corak's Notes on A2:

Many huts are scattered through Orc Meadow and Woodland Grove. One in particular houses a bodiless voice with much treasure to sell. Another holds inside its walls a shrine, sacred only to the Orcs. In the southwest corner of Orc Meadow is one of the five ancient pyramids, where can be found the answers to many mysteries.

Monsters in the area: Goblins and Orc Warriors.

Map of A2

Baywatch.

Castle Whiteshield. All party members must have the Crusader skill to enter here.

Pyramid of Storage. You'll need the Golden Pyramid Key Card to enter.

Goblin Lair. Destroy it to stop Goblins from re-appearing in the area. You'll get 5000 gold and 5 random items for doing this. In addition, all party members will gain 5000 experience.

Orc Outpost. Destroy it to stop Orc Warriors from re-appearing in the area. You'll get 10000 gold and 5 random items for doing this. In addition, all party members will gain 10000 experience.

Orcish Shrine. You'll get 500 gems for destroying it.

Shrine of Icarus. Here, you will receive a quest. The last Unicorn, Icarus, lies entombed in this shrine, but he can be revived by bringing the Golden Alicorn back to the shrine. The Alicorn is hidden somewhere in the swamplands. It will probably be quite a while before you finish this quest, though.

This house is unstable. If you enter, it will crash down and deal 25 damage to all party members. There's nothing in there either, so simply don't enter. The house that's located 3 spaces south of this house won't collapse, but it also doesn't contain anything.

This area, especially Orc Meadow (the grasslands in the southwest), is crawling with Orcs and Goblins. They shouldn't pose too much of a threat though. Quickly destroy their lairs and the Orc Shrine to stop them from re-appearing.

The house in the northwest, two spaces south from Castle Whiteshield, is an interesting one. This is the house with the "bodiless voice" mentioned in Corak's Notes. You can reach it by either crossing the mountains (need Mountaineering), or by swimming around the mountains (if all party members have the swimming skill). If you leave 10000 gold at the house, you'll get five random items. You can only get these items once.

The house in the northeast holds an orb. If you touch it, all party members' SP will temporarily be raised to 100 points above their natural maximum. Yes, this even means non-spell casters will gain SP. Not that will do them any good, of course.

Finally, you can find some random items in the trees. You can find one random item at each of these locations:

* Directly north of Baywatch;
* One space south and one space east of the collapsing hut(8 on the map);
* Three spaces north and one space east of the collapsing hut;
* Four spaces east and four spaces south of Castle Whiteshield.
