The Great Palace
|
Head west from Tasnica on Flammie and land on the little building in the middle of the oddly-shaded ocean. Walk inside to meet the emperor
once again. Time to fight another boss, Aegagropilon by name. Use Luna's enhancement spells and chop away at it to attain a Spear's Orb.
Go left and up the stairs to find Dryad and the last mana seed. After the events that occur have finished, land Flammie on the palace again
and talk to Jema. On a side note, now would be a great time to max out your magic levels, as powerful magic will make the coming onslaught
of bosses much, much easier. See Leveling Up for my recommendations on how to do this. |
When ready, from where Jema stands head down the stairs. At the lowest level, take the leftmost set of stairs. Follow the path
and take another set of stairs to head inside. Use the axe to cut through the blue/purple things on the ground. Use the jumper to cross the waterfall at the top
to reach a chest with a Boomerang's Orb inside. Go through the north door. Head to the top of the screen, then go left. In the waterfall hit the switch on the way down (on the left wall)
to shut it off. Go back up into, then into the next waterfall. The switch is in the third stream on the right wall. Head through the north
door to fight the boss Hydra. Torch it with Salamando to make off with a Whip's Orb. |
|
|
Go through the north door. Eventually you'll end up in a room with conveyor belts. Go through the left wall on the left conveyor belt and hit the switch to raise the door to the south.
In the first door you come to you'll find Watts and some Resistance members. Krissie will heal you if you talk to her. When ready,
head out and take the next door to continue onward. |
Exit to the left. Proceed along the path, going down ledges where necessary. Hit a switch, then backtrack to the north-leading passage it opened.
At the area with four colored floor panels, hit them in this sequence: red, blue, yellow, and green. Go through the center passage, hit another switch, drop down, and go right until you find
the switch you hit a moment earlier. Head south from it, over the conveyor belts, and exit. Board the train by the open door on the left, proceed through it, and exit
it from the right side. |
|
|
Follow the path south until you find it blocked by a screen. Step into the right H-shaped structure in the room to open it.
In the next room exit at the bottom left. Inside this room you find the Boss and Boys, and get thrown into a fight with Kettle Kin.
Blast it with spells. If you do choose to fight it physically, just be sure not to get hit by its hammers. Either way victory will put a Bow's
Orb into your hands. The thieves skidaddle, and you'll end up outside. |
Head in the door to the left. Go in the bottom center room. The rooms to the left and right each have an orb that needs to be hit with
a spell of a certain element, Gnome and Undie respectively. Head back to the center room and go through the top door. Whip to the south, then west.
In the room to the north use Sylphid on the orb. Exit and then go straight south. Before going up the steps to the center door, go east then north to another orb room - use Salamando this time.
Head back to that center door. Go through the south passages on either side to find more orbs and a Sword's Orb in the center one. Lumina is in the western room, Shade in the east. Go back to the room
with the center gate. Go up the stairs, follow along, hit the switch on the wall, return, and head through the now-open gate. In the following room, take the leftmost stairs
and loop around. Hit the switches on the left and whip across to the south to find another orb, this one requiring Luna's magic. |
|
|
Go back out and do the same for the right side of the room. In the next room, hit the switch, then head north to battle with the Snap Dragon. A little Salamando
magic will get you a Javelin's Orb in this case. Winning makes two paths available, one of which is the exit to the top of the
Great Palace. The east path leads onward. Head past the emperor for another boss fight, Hexas. It has no elemental weakness, but that
doesn't mean you shouldn't just sit there and nuke it to death. You get a Whip's Orb. |
After the fight, head north and step on the switch for yet another boss battle, the final round with the Mech Rider. Handle
it mostly the same as before, but beware one thing in particular - it casts wall on itself, which will cause any of your attack spells
cast on it to hit your own people. You can get rid of Wall with Dispel, or play it safe and attack with magic-enhanced physical attacks. This fight's reward
is a Spear's Orb. Afterwards, land and talk to Jema. if you circle around the building, you can find Neko, who's selling some pretty nice armor. Also, go elsewhere
to upgrade your weapons. |
