The Sandship to the Fire Palace

Once you land in the desert, go north a screen, then west, west, south, and west again. You should see a brief scene. Once that ends, go north to find a ship. Talk to Sergo, then the guards in front of the stairs. Head up the stairs, climb up to the next deck and go down a different set of stairs. Go through the door to find the Sprite. Head back up. Go through the door located in the bottom-center part of that deck. Head up the stairs, and save at the guard if you so wish. Go through the back door to find the Girl and a green-haired man.
Talk to that green-haired guy to start a boss battle. Mech Rider isn't weak to any magic, but he's too fast to bother trying to take down physically, so just pound him with Undine or Gnome regardless. When you win you'll get a whip's Orb. Say "yes" to the soldier when he asks if you're ready to go and you'll get dumped back in the desert. Head north to reach the village of Kakkara. There's new equipment available, and Watts is present as well. Leave the town by the east exit and use the Cannon Travel Agency to send you to the Ice Country.
Leave the forest to east. Make your way through this screen and in the next you'll find a Spear's Orb in a chest in a cabin. Exit south. The easter exit from this screen leads to a Cannon Travel station, which you'll need later. For now, head west, then north, and you'll reach a boss battle with Boreal Face, who yields a Bow's Orb when beaten down.
Head north and check the stove in the center of the village to release Salamando, who grants you his power. Go north again and continue until you find Neko in a dead end. Leave to the south and you'll see a new exit to your northeast. Take it to find the Ice Castle. Before going through this dungeon, it would be immensely helpful for you to raise the Sprite's Salamando magic to level three.
Inside the Ice Castle, inside the first room and hit the center or right switch to provide access to the door. In the room with two doors, the one on the right leads to a chest with a Glove's Orb. The left door brings you to a library where you need to hit one of either switches to drop you down to a boss battle with three Tonpoles/Biting Lizards. After the battle, head north to fight the Frost Gigas. Torch him with Salamando, 'nuff said. You'll get a Boomerang's Orb, after which you should approach the Fire Seed and finish up.
Use the afformentioned Cannon Travel amidst the forests of crystal and ice to head back to Kakkara. Starting from the village, leave to the south, then go south a screen, west, and north to reach the Fire Palace. Once insider, go through the lefthand door and cast Exploder on the orb. Go up. The lower left exit leads to a chest with 1000 gold. In the middle of the main room you'll find another orb which you'll need to cast Fireball on. The back-right exit leads to another 1000 gold. Collect that and head to the lower left to advance.
The stairs at the top-left will net you and Axe's Orb. Head back, and you'll need to follow the path around to hit the nearby switch, cross a whip chasm, and hit another green switch to light some torches. Encountering another orb, cast Freeze on it. Walk between the two remaining lit torches. Go up the stiars for a boss fight with Minotaur, who's weak against Sylphid and drops a Javelin's Orb. Do that thing you do with the seed and head back to Kakkara when you finish.
