Gaia's Navel to Elinee's Castle

It's fairly straightforward, so I'll only mention a few specific areas. In the room with all the lava, you'll have to hit a skull switch in a sideroom off to the right to cool the molten rock. Proceed through the newly-accessible southern exit to reach a room where you have the option to take another southern exit or to go into a room in the upper left. In that room to the upper left is the unique item the Magic Rope, which allows you to instantly leave dungeons and can be used an unlimited number of times. It's no hassle to get (guarded only by two Kid Goblins), so pick it up. Now take that southern exit. Farther on you'll have to hit another skull-shaped switch, then return to the previous room and walk over the newly-place platform to enter your destination, the dwarf village.
First off, stay at the inn. Second, head to the upper-righthand-most door. Inside the left door here you'll need to pay 50 GP to watch a cheesy little show, but it's necessary. When asked to contribute 100 GP, it doesn't matter whether you do or do not; after the show, go into the righthand room to get your money back. Now head back into the main town and visit the item shop. Buy whatever you can afford at the moment, but keep 100 GP in reserve. I recommend getting Power Wrists first; not only do they improve your defense, but they raise your Strength (and hence, Attack) by five as well. When you're done there, head over to the smith's shop in the upper left to meet Watts. He'll reforge your sword for 100 GP, making it into the more powerful Broad Sword.
Leaving the shop will initiate an easy boss fight with Tropicallo. The plant will pop up in one of three places throughout the fight. In the beginning it'll have two shoots for support. Hit those a couple times to get them out of the way. Charge your weapon to level one while Tropicallo is underground. Wait until he opens up and exposes himself after he pops up, then unleash the charged attack. He'll probably nail you with a pumpkin bomb when he pops out of the ground, but they don't do too much damage. The fight will be a breeze if you're around level seven or eight. If you are close to dieing, just use a candy to restore your hit points. You'll get a Spear's Orb for winning.
After the fight the sprite will join, bringing the Boomerang weapon with her. Also, talk to the elder to receive the Bow and Arrows weapon. Head back to Watts and purchase the Axe for 100 GP. Watts will open up a shortcut that leads to the right-cave entrance of Gaia's Navel, where only Neko was previously. Before leaving for good, go back to Watts and have him upgrade the Spear, too. See the pattern? Whenever you get a weapon orb, bring it back to Watts to upgrade the weapon to the next level. Not only will the weapon get more powerful, but each character will be able to raise his individual level with that weapon - meaning that you'll be able to charge the attack up even more. Also visit the weapon shop for more equipment, especially for the Sprite.
Everything done, head back to the Haunted Forest. Go to the area where you were blocked by the skulls. Before going through them, first take the righthand path, which will lead first to a teleporter and then a magic switch which puts a platform in place for future use.Now go back to the skulls and chop through them with the axe. Proceed, and eventually you'll pass a raised platform to your north with a peg in the ground; you can't do anything here now, but remember it. After another screen, you'll reach another transporter, which takes you to the front of Elinee's castle.
Be careful of the Werewolves around here! They're brutal, and can wipe out a character in short order if you're not careful. Inside the first room of the castle, hit the switch to raise the gate. Through that gate is a room where the furniture itself attacks you - three of the four chairs are Polter Chairs, to be exact. They're not too tough, but they can surprise you if you didn't know they were there. In the next room, once again raise the gates using the floor switches. The room on the right is a dead end filled with Polter Chairs. Use the left door, but prepared to fight two Werewolves at once. Once they're disposed of, go through the exit in the lower left.
Talk with the soldiers in here, and buy healing supplies from Neko, if you need them. Having four Candies is a necessity, and I'd also recommend getting some Chocolate and a Cup of Wishes or two. Leave the room and have all three characters step on the switch to extend the bridge. Across it will be one of those eye enemies that spawns Chobin Hoods. Across the gap to your right will be the Werewolves. This is an excellent area to get each character's weapon levels up, as you can just kill the eye and Chobin Hoods and then hit the Werewolves with projectile weapons (the Boomerang and Bow) from the safety of the left side of the gap. When they're dead, go into the prison room, return, and the enemies will have reswpawned. Doing this for a mere five to ten minutes will prepare you well for a coming boss fight. Being on level ten or eleven is recommended.
Once you're done leveling, use the door across the bridge to come to a room with three doors. The right and left ones are dead-end rooms with enemies. Take the center door, hit the switch in the next room, and in the room after that, after killing a couple Polter Chairs, you'll finally find Elinee. Talk to her, then follow her into the next room for a boss fight.
Meet Spikey, a vicious cat-monster. Attack him when he's on the ground with you with the Sword, Spear, or Axe. He'll jump, and when he lands he'll usually knock a character unconscious. At times he'll jump up onto one of the ledges to either your left or right. From there he'll cast Fire Bouqet (2) and Fire Breath. If a character becomes engulfed, there's really nothing you can do but keep them alive with Candies, if necessary, until the flames go out. Shoot Spikey with the Bow while he's on the ledges, if you can. After a while he'll come back town to ground level, where you can resume hacking away at him with melee weapons. You'll probably have to use more than a few healing items, but eventually the feline with go down.
