Castle Blood Reign Walkthrough

Corak's Notes on Castle Blood Reign:

Tumult, King Chaotic, rules from his throne in Castle Blood Reign. It is he who hired the Dwarves of Wildabar to attack Castle Whiteshield. Once pillaged by the Ogres of Locust Grove, Tumult's castle is now beset with Trolls, that were driven from the Valley of the Trolls when the fleeing Ogres settled there.

Monsters in this area: Castle Guards, Sorcerers, Trolls.

Map of Castle Blood Reign:

Entrance/Exit.

King Tumult. Approach his throne, and he will give you a quest: You are to bring him Ultimate Power Orbs, so that the forces of Neutrality may defeat the forces of Good and Evil. You get 1 million experience for every Orb you give him. The award you get after giving Tumult an Orb will track the amount of Orbs you've given him so far. Watch it, though; he takes ALL Ultimate Power Orbs your party members are carrying when you talk to him. After giving him 11 Orbs, he will use their power to destroy Castle Whiteshield and Castle Dragontooth. After this, the alignment of all party members will become neutral, plus they will receive the award "Champion of Neutrality", and the Blue Priority Pass Card. So make sure this is what you want, and that you've finished your business at the other castles before doing so. You can't finish the game without giving 11 Ultimate Power Orbs to one of the three Kings, though.

Chathos. He will also give you a quest: To return the Ancient Artifacts of Neutrality to him. You will receive a new award from doing so, which will track the amount of Artifacts of Neutrality you've given to Chathos. For every Artifact you give him, all party members with Neutral alignment will receive 500000 experience points. All other party members will receive 100000 experience per Artifact.

Entrance to the Blood Reign Dungeon. You'll need the password to get in.

In Castle Blood Reign, like in Castle Whiteshield, there aren't any monsters around, unless you touch any of the treasure chests. First, talk to King Tumult and Chathos, to add the above quests to your list, and to exchange any Artifacts of Neutrality you may have for experience.

The four chests near King Tumult are protected by a password, which you can find in the Blood Reign Dungeon. These chests, like King Zealot's, contain a LOT of cash... a total amount of 4002001 Gold and 10000 Gems. Opening any of these chests releases a bunch of Sorcerers, so make sure you can handle that. They're fast, and attack with Cold spells from a distance, which damage all party members.

To enter the Blood Reign Dungeon, you'll also need a password, which can be found by solving the puzzle of the statues in the castle's four corners. But if you take a look at the question you are asked when you try to enter the dungeon, you may find you are able to answer it without solving the puzzle... If you still get stumped, the answer is in the Puzzle Spoilers section.

If you unlock any of the doors at the west or east side of the castle, you're likely to find a treasure chest behind it. If you try to open any of these, the castle halls will be filled with Castle Guards. You can gain a lot of experience here by opening a single chest, walking around the halls killing all the guards, then opening another chest to release a second wave of guards. There are six chests behind the doors, which contain a total of 72199 Gold, 2000 Gems and 12 random items. While getting these chests, you may notice a couple of notices on the wall. One lets you know that the Gargoyles were driven north after devastating wars (that's why that place is called the Land of the Gargoyles, probably) and another tells you that the ancient name of the Frozen Isles is hidden in the dungeon. And if you checked out the chests near Tumult earlier, you know that name is what you need to know in order to open the chests.

Lastly, there are some Trolls behind gates in the southern parts of the castle. Bash through the gates and beat the Trolls, then bash through the wall behind them to a hole in the ground. A character who (using a rope) descends into one of these pits will lose 500(!) HP... unless that character is a Dwarf, in which case the damage is halved. However, at the bottom of each of the four pits, there is an Ancient Artifact: There are two of Good, and two of Evil.
