Magic
Dungeon Magic uses a truly innovative system to cast spells.
Runes are obtained through apprenticeship in the five different types of magic. To cast a spell, you must make a sequence of up to three runes. At the beginning of the game you will have only one set of five runes (from your first apprenticeship). Further apprenticeships are obtained by finding the elemental swords. Once you have all five sets of runes, you can combine them in 16^3 + 16^2 +16 = 4368 different ways (though many combinations produce similar effects). A situational spell, such as the cure poison spell, may appear only to deduct HP when its true purpose is unknown.
I believe that the following list of spells is complete (ignoring differences of intensity). If you find a spell which is qualitatively different from any on this list, please email me!
