Characters
Fron "A boy searching for the 'Fairy.' 16." Fron is the main character of Monstania, and with a single exception, the character who will ALWAYS be present in battles. His weapon is a sword, with which he can attack any square directly adjacent to the one he occupies. His attack power is good, and he does learn some ranged attacks. Assisted by Tia, he'll be the one mowing down the monsters. |
Tia "Fron's childhood sweetheart. 16." Tia's role in battle is mainly to assist Fron with healing and status spells. However, it should not be forgotten that her weapon is a bow, which has a range of several squares in front of her. While some of her skills may never be put into use, others, like Treat, will be in use almost constantly. |
Chitta "A girl we met...Five years old?" Even though she's so young, Chitta has all the attack magic you'll ever need in the game. Although she'll never overtake Fron in usefulness, there are some points where her spells really make the battles go a lot easier. |
Morin the Elf "An elf. 232. Perpetually lost!" Morin's skills are along the lines of Tia's, and for the short time you have him he is useful. One must be suspicious, however, of anyone who attacks forest creatures with a harp... |
Mikey "A boy living in the ruins. 12." Just like Morin, Mikey will only stick with you for two battles. However, unlike Morin, he is very strong. While his normal attack doesn't have as much power as Fron's, his boomerang can hit up to three spaces away. Couple that with some nice skills, and Mikey makes a great side character. Too bad you don't get to use him other than during the short side trip into the Ancient Ruins. |
Marina "Daughter of Maberia's innkeeper. 18" Completely useless. Three of her skills don't seem to do anything at all. Good thing you only have her for one battle. |
Marx "Seasoned adventurer. Very strong. 29." Marx rocks! First off, yes, he is VERY strong. He also has a lot of HP, meaning that Recover is particularly effective for him. While he only has two skills, Critical can be used time and time again to dish out some heavy damage. Better yet, he gains AP even when he takes an action. That's right...he gains AP back when he walks or attacks, and given the battle that you use him for, he never has to sit back and try and avoid the enemy while recharging AP. Again, you only get to use him for a single battle, which is really a shame in this case. |
