Move/Equip/Select Item | In the field screen, use the directional buttons to move your character around. In the equip menu, press right or left to have a red box select that item, signifying that you have equipped it. In the items or magic menu, press up, down, left or right to select an item. | ||

Jump/Confirm | In the field screen, A makes your character jump. In the menu, it acts as a confirmation when you select a menu choice or an item. | ||

Attack/Cancel | In the field screen, B makes your character attack with his weapon. In the mnu, it acts as a cancel to back out of the menu or to cancel a selection. | ||

Talk/Cancel | Press X to talk to NPCs and characters, back out of the menu or to cancel a selection. | ||

Talk | Press Y to talk to NPCs and characters. | ||

Menu | Same as the Select key, calls up the menu for use. | ||

Menu | Same as the Start key, calls up the menu for use. | ||

Item | Use the Item you have currently equipped. | ||

Magic | Use the Magic you have currently equipped. | ||
