WIT

If you're a Wizard, you've probably heard about WIT from either Keapon or Aziza. It's basically the college for Wizardry. Unfortunately, it's sealed from normal riff-raff, and only Wizards who know where it is can enter.

Make sure you have all the spells from the Magic Shop, as well as some Mana Pills, then head to the VERY northend of town. You'll find a dead-end side-street. Simply cast open at the back wall. A door will appear, leading into another world. You're now in WIT.

Soon, the four wizards (with nice, omnimous text boxes) will stop you with even MORE questions!

Q: What is your name?
A: Enter your character's name.

Q: What do you seek?
A: To become a wizard.

The third question is who will be your sponsor. You can enter the names of anyone in the portraits (for a few laughs, try Houdini), but the only one that will take you is Erasmus.

You'll now have to take the preliminary entrance exam. The puzzle here is quite simple. There are three bells and one stand. You have to find the magic bell, move it to the stand, and ring it using only three spells. Cast Detect Magic to find the magic bell (it's chosen at random). Cast Fetch to move it to the stand. Finally, cast Trigger to ring it.

Unfortunately, that was only a preliminary. You now must pass the REAL entrance exam! Each of the four wizards represents a different element. You must pass all four in order to continue. Here they are, in the order they appear.

TEST OF AIR: The wizard will leave behind his staff, which will begin to rotate at an amazing rate. Cast Fetch to bring it flying towards you, then quickly cast Levitate and keep floating up until the staff is behind you. Now land and continue onward.

TEST OF EARTH: A big, stone wall with red eyes will appear. Cast Trigger on it, and it'll show itself to be a monster. Cast Calm to make it more peaceful. Walk up to climb over it, but just as you leave, it comes back with a vengeance! Quickly cast Calm. Now continue onward.

TEST OF WATER: The wizard will send a big block of ice to block your path. Cast Flame Dart on it to create a crack. Cast Force Bolt to make the crack even wider. Finally, cast Open to break the ice apart. You're almost through!

TEST OF FIRE: Your final test is a doozy. A door innocently blocks your way. Use a Mana Pill if you're running low on MP; you'll need to use a good bit of magic to finish this test. Cast Open on the door to find that a huge fire is behind it. Cast Calm to put the fire out. However, it left a big hole. Cast Fetch on the door to close it. And finally, cast Force Bolt on the top of the door to send it crashing down, creating a bridge. Walk on over to finish the test.

Yay! You finished the entrance exam! Now the four wizards will give you a choice: either stay and become a scholar, or go out on your merry way. Say no. They'll leave. Erasmus will give you the all-important Reversal Spell as a graduation gift.
