Welcome to Rasier! Your arrival in Rasier will be less than welcoming: a small group of guards, led by the Captain of the Guard, Khaveen, will corner you right at the gates. Khaveen will give you a few questions. No matter what you answer, you'll get pushed around. Finally, Khaveen will give you a Visa (don't leave town without it!) and walk off. Okay, this place is officially less than appealing. The streets are empty, except for guards. The walls are cracked. And, to make things even drearier, the entire place is coated a dull grey. Very atmospheric. Anyway, head to the local Inn, called the Blue Parrot Inn. Your reception at the Inn isn't any better, but at least one man is willing to talk to you. His name is Signor Ferrari. Sit next to him, and he'll begin a conversation. When he offers a drink, pick either one; it doesn't matter. Now, if the conversation stops, then you'll have to kick around until sunset. Leave the Inn, then re-enter, and Ferrari will talk to you again. Sit to begin speaking with him again. This time, he'll also introduce Ugarte, a water smuggler/informant. Buy some water if your skins are empty, and buy information in order to learn about a certain prophecy (you can't be a hero without a prophecy!). Afterwards, he'll leave. If you're a Thief, then there's another sidequest for you. Click here to go to that page. Otherwise, continue. Kill time until night. You can now enter your room. You'll find that it's like most of the town; in pieces. At least a cute, freaky mouse will keep you company... The next morning, leave the Inn and head to the Fountain. You'll see an argument between Ugarte and Khaveen, which will result in Khaveen discovering Ugarte's smuggled water. After ripping the Waterskin apart, he'll have the guards drag Ugarte away and deliver a warning to you; if you break the law, you'll end up like him. Head back towards the Inn, and you'll get stopped halfway by a young woman. Follow her into the small alley and enter the open door. Inside is Zayishah, the daughter of the Emir. She wants to escape desperately, and has a plan, but needs to disguise herself as you! Give her your clothes, and you'll hand over your spare set. She'll go get changed...TURN THE BLOODY HELL AWAY!!! Anyway, when she comes back out, her disguise will be complete with a stylish yellow wig. Now all she needs is your VISA. Give her the VISA, and she'll leave. You'll also recieve a mirror as a token of thanks. Leave and return to the Inn. Signor Ferrari will tell about Ugarte a bit, but it won't be enough to kill time until night. Wait until night, then sleep. When you get up in the morning, Ferrari will mention that it's been a pleasure doing business with you...How odd... Leave the Inn. You'll be uncerimoniously grabbed and arrested on some charge (probably helping Zayishah escape). You'll be tossed into a cell, devoid of all equipment...except for your Sapphire Pin, which remained invisible to your enemies, the guards. Your only cellmate is a katta that was arrested for being a katta. Show the Sapphire Pin, and it'll recognize you as a friend to the kattas. Now to escape. Fighters can simply force the door; no cell can hold them! Wizards can simply cast open; they really should make these spell-proof. Thieves can pick the lock. The Sapphire Pin's sharp points can be used as a lockpick. Now the katta will show you a secret passage out. First, take your equipment from the table, then enter the secret passage. Head down the streets. Whenever you reach a two-way junction at the end of a street, take the left path. Soon you'll be surrounded by a blue field at one street as a shady character comes from the shadows. His name is Ad Avis. Look into his eyes. He is your friend. He helped you escape from the dungeons of Rasier. He wants you to come with him to the Forbidden City. He wants you to recover the djinni Iblis, so that the Emir can be re-instated. Look into his eyes...and trust him...and for dramatic effect, walk with your arms straight out... This is Shapier. This is more of Rasier. |
