As the game opens, a letter is delivered to Mario and Luigi's house, inviting them to a party at Peach's castle. |
| The game automatically takes you to the castle. Luigi goes off to talk to some guests, and you're finally free to control yourself. Talk to the guests if you want, and when you're ready, start heading up the stairs to meet Peach. |  |

| Before Mario can get his groove on, the castle begins to shake, and is lifted off the ground by a mysterious flying castle-contraption... |  |

Of course, Bowser is behind the castle-napping. |
| You'll have to fight Bowser now. Trade blows with him for a few rounds, and he'll whip out the Star Rod and become invincible. Then there's nothing more to do but lose the battle... |  |
