The Sprite

You might have noticed that the graphics for each spell tend to change as you level up, and if you max out the level the spell can change quite a bit. Since I found this to be one of the cooler things the game does, I've made a little record of how each spell changes. Check it out here.

Elemental
Spell MP Effect Effect of leveling up

Undine

Freeze 2 Economic water elemental spell. Increased damage.
Acid Storm 3 Deals damage and temporarily lowers target's defense. Increased damage and length of duration of the status effect.
Energy Absorb 2 Steals the target's HP and gives it to the Sprite. Don't use on the undead! Increases the amount of HP stolen.

Gnome

Speed Down 1 Slows the target down. Longer duration.
Earth Slide 3 Major earth elemental attack. Drops a boulder on the target. Increased damage.
Gem Missile 2 Lesser earth attack. Pierces the enemy with multiple gem shards. Increased damage.

Sylphid

Air Blast 2 Lesser air attack. Shreds the enemy with whirlwinds. Increased damage
Thunderbolt 4 Major air attack. Shocks enemies with the power of the heavens. Increased damage.
Silence 2 Drives the target quite insane. The effects vary from the enemy running away from you to making it spin around rapidly in little circles. Lengthened duration of spell's effects.

Salamando

Fireball 2 Three fireballs shoot out from the sprite and strike the enemy for light fire damage. Increased damage.
Exploder 4 Heavy fire damage resulting from fiery detonations all around the enemy's body. Increased damgage.
Lava Wave 3 Hot magma bubbles up around the enemy's feet, causing mid-range fire damage. Increased damage.

Shade

Dispel Magic 4 Removes beneficial magic effects from the enemy (-Saber spells, for example). A little hard to say. I believe it has a better chance of succeeding with each level.
Evil Gate 8 Opens up a swirling vortex of evil on top of the target. Ouch. (J.C. adds: "Does damage based on the target's current and Max HP. (Making it best used as only the first attack.)" Increased damage.
Dark Force 2 Pelts the target with explosive balls of negative energy. Increased damage.

Luna

Magic Absorb 1 Steals the enemy's MP and gives it to the caster. Improves the amount of MP stolen.
Lunar Magic 8 Random effects, including pygmytizing the party, restoring enemy and ally HP, lowering/raising enemy stats, knocking everyone unconscious, Who knows? It's an unpredictable spell.
Change Form 5 If effective, changes the enemy into a weaker monster. Not exactly sure, but I believe it's easier to land at higher levels.

Dryad

Sleep Flower 2 Knocks the target unconsious. Longer duration.
Burst 4 Slams the enemy with explosive magical force. Increased damage.
Mana Magic 1 When cast together with the girl's spell of the same name on the hero holding the sword, brings forth the Mana Sword and radically increases the hero's attack power. You only get to use it briefly, so...
