Into the Dark, Dark Tower!

See that thing in the forest that looks like a huge, chemical plant? That's another group of 2D Special Stages we will run through. The first one is a gigantic bridge.. all you have to do is run across as fast as you can and jump across the trouble spots. Easy!

The second part, shown in the screenshot over yonder, is a different can of worms entirely. The obstacle that seems to cause trouble is the spiked ceiling with springy thing at the very beginning of the stage. To get past it, we are going to exploit a little glitch. Run as fast as you can into the spring thing, and keep holding Right as you bounce up. You will actually bounce up into the spike, but you will take no damage. Cool, eh? The rest of the stage is fairly straightforward; just time your bounces on the springy things, and careful of the spikes.

Congratulations! You have reached my least favourite dungeon in the game! Not because of it's design, but because of the damn Wolf enemies! Luckily for you, I have planned out the easiest route through, so follow my lead, Maria (heh, FF6 reference).

First, head straight up and past the tombstones (ulp...) and when you see a set of stairs to the north, walk right by them without thinking twice. They lead to nothing important; just a rogue soldier who tells you how to defeat the boss of the tower. But who needs him when you got me?

Anyway, head to the left (past MORE tombstones) until you see another staircase. That's the one we are going to take. Head up the stairs, and down the next flight of stairs. Next, head south until you see the screen shown here.

Believe it or not, our Arc-De-Travel works indoors, too! Walk off the dock to get inside, and then head up and left to reach the ending dock. Run from the underwater enemies; the slow movement underwater makes these fights extremely difficult!

Now, before running up those stairs like the eager little ninja that you are, take a moment and move to the tile shown in this screenshot. Use a Boo Bomb to blow up the wall in front of you, and head inside the neatly formed door to find a hidden passage with a hidden treasure, the NINJA SABER! And you probably ignored my advice and bought the damn sword in Satoon, didn't you?

Okay, now go up those stairs, and take the next set of stairs after that. You are now nearing the end! If you concentrate really hard, you can smell Romel's odor! Would a little Right Guard kill the guy? At any rate, travel north to the very top of this room and when you reach the doorway, take a deep breath, heal up, and then enter.

It appears we will have to fight the Romel impersonator, General Konk. Geez, another bad guy with an identity crisis who disguises himself as someone else to get revenge! General Konk isn't too tough; just save your NP for when he uses Shadow Shield. When you defeat him, you'll get the Green Auraball, and things will almost be happy again! Now we begin the long trek back to Fairy Town!

My feet hurt! What's next?
