Enemies

Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
2% 1 2 Slow-moving slimes that follow you wherever you go. They don't do much damage, and die with one shot of your sword, so you don't have to really worry.
Slime
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
2% 2 3 Random-moving gray demons that hurt you on contact. Be wary of them, as they can suddenly turn around from a direction and bump into you, causing damage. They can, for the most part, be easily dodged or blocked, and die quickly, if you can hit them.
Gray Demon
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
6% 3 4 Skeleton warriors also move for you, but they are slow as the slimes, if not slower, and they have a shield. Go to a side view and keep hacking away at them, and they'll either be forced away or hurt. Three good blows with your sword should kill one.
Skeleton Warrior
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
8% 4 3 Beetles are moderately fast but don't do too much damage, so you should be able to face them head on and chop them to pieces. If they get too close, you also have a good chance of blocking. They're not that tough; they just takes a bit longer to kill.
Beetle
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
2% 5 3 Flying eyes are quick and follow you around, so if you're quick at turning you can finish them off quite easily. They don't do too much damage and give plenty of experience, so if you see one, give it a good stroke and kill it.
Flying Eye
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
12% 5 5 Armored Knights have 6 hit points, are immune to the Fireball spell, and are armed, so are relatively dangerous. They can do a good bit of damage, so facing them directly on a side view and hacking away at them may be your best solution, as they just go blindly for you without any randomness.
Armored Knight
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
10% 6 5 These guys are larger, thougher, and move faster in an attempt to follow you once you get within a certain range of them. They should be easy if you can attack fast enough to keep them at bay.
Dark Knight
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
12% 6 5 Jellies move slowly without much consistancy, so they should be easy pickings and a good monster to pick on to level up in a hurry.
Jelly
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
10% 4 5 Fire Mages are dangerous things that walk around and periodically shoot three fireballs in front of them, one going straight ahead and the other two diagonally in the same direction on the left and right. The best way to kill them is either quickly finish them off, stay out of the fireball area, or to circle them quickly just before they shoot their fireballs
Fire Mage
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
10% 6 5 These monsters periodically charge up with electricity, and while they do they are invincible to any sort of physical attack. Either chop them while they're vulnerable, or blast them with your fire magic.
Thunder Ball
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
15% 7 6 Ghouls are rather nasty, as they charge at you, have high hit points, and are fairly fast. The best tactic is to kill them with your magic or a combination of magic and physical attacks. Their high experience payoff is usually worth the effort.
Ghoul
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
30% 10 10 Don't get too close! Stay at far-range and charge up after they've spat out 3 fireballs at you, or hit them with long-range spells. However, they're immune to fire, so you can't really hit them with long-range spells yet.
Lava Ball
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
30% 9 5 Coyotes are quick at attacking and quick at dodging. The best thing to do is turn corners sharply and suddenly so they don't get you that often, and either run away or turn until you're in a good position to attack it. Or, simply throw out fireballs and hope some of them hit.
Coyote
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
40% 20 10 These guys are dangerous! They can randomly shoot 5-way fireballs, have a bunch of hit points, and are immune to fire, including the lava hazard area that they hang around in. Be careful around them, and avoid them if you can. However, they are slow-moving, so shouldn't cause too much trouble.
Lava Man
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
20% 32 10 These things are very fast, but only travel in a straight line. If you're not careful they can knock you into the lava and even kill you with hazard damage alone. You'll be lucky to get a shot on them, but it's a good thing that they have no initiative. So walk quickly and you should be fine. They are immune to fire.
Fire Dragon
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
35% 22 5 Giant Slugs are slow, so whack them as you would any other monster. They have a lot of hit points for a slug, but with a few magic attacks that shouldn't be a problem.
Giant Slug
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
50% 30 6 Orcs throw pickaxes at you, so don't stay directly in a line to any of the cardinal points from them. Throw a few magic spells here and there, along with your sword attacks, and you should be fine. Just don't let them gang up on you.
Orc
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
50% 30 7 These guys are quick, have plenty of HP and are immune to both fire and wind magic. The only way to kill them is to whack them head-on.
Shielded Knight
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
15% 35 1 These little creature just spin around towards you. If you turn your back on them they can hit you for two consecutive times. However, they are easy experience and can be easily sniped off by magic.
Tri-Ball
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
55% 40 7 These guys have a ton of hit points, but are really slow, so a few magic hits should cut them down to size. Finish them off with a few quick sword hits if you want to save MP.
Orc Knight
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
45% 52 8 These four-armed sword-wielding things are really good exp, but are hard to hit, as they run randomly fast and slow and change directions suddenly. Use the 3-Way Fire Ball or the Wind Blaster to take care of them.
Mutant Goblin
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
45% 60 10 These guys shoot at you with large blue laser beams or something. You can jump over these attacks, and make use of your new water spells on them. They're mostly harmless, unless they gather in packs and all start shooting at you.
Cyclops
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
50% 80 9 Red Knights are pretty slow, but have good defense and good HP. They're an easy source of experience, but there aren't many of them in the game.
Red Knight
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
60% 80 10 These guys are tough! They prod you with their little knives, and have a lot of HP. They're also immune to water spells of any sort. Even fire spells aren't too effective on them, so just chop them down to size.
Ice Savage
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
40% 120 2 Clear Slimes are very pecular, in that they have to transform to attack. When you see them turn into a spinning cylinder, prepare to jump, because they'll shoot a 8-way fireball. Snipe them off with magic or chop them when they revert to natural form.
Clear Slime
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
60% 90 5 All they do is fly around randomly, but this is a good place to test out your newly-acquired ultimate spells (providing that you just got the Moon Staff).
Fire Bird
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
70% 140 5 These guys try to flank you at times, so turn with them. Try out your newly gotten thunder magic on them, as they have a lot of hit points.
Green Spearman
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
60% 130 7 It's a one-eyed... thing. Who cares? It gives good experience and it doesn't really do anything aggressive, so that's good enough for me :P
One-Eye
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
60% 150 7 Try not to let them touch you, because they hurt. A lot. You can pound them with magic attacks or just use your sword. They aren't that fast, and aren't really aggressive unless you go near them.
Evil Clown
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
70% 160 7 These guys are pretty slow, and shoot fireballs in a straight line when they see you. You can keep to their side or back and just whack them with your sword until they die. Very good source of experience.
Floating Magus
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
70% 200 7 These guys hurt a lot! Plus they have a lot of HP to boot, so just hit them with your sword head-on, and use the Defensive Ring if necessary.
Cyclops Knight
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
75% 250 8 Green Knights are pretty quick, and hurt much. Try not to let them get behind you, and use your Moon Blade to cut them down to size. They give a ton of experience, however, so try to kill a lot fo them.
Green Knight
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
80% 300 7 They're slow and stupid, so you don't need to worry about getting hit by them. If you do, however, that's a huge chunk of your health down the drain. But, because they're not aggressive, they're basically free experience points.
Cyclops Spider
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
100% 350 8 They're about one of the toughest-to-kill enemies there are! Good thing for you, they're slow and clumsy. The Defensive Ring should give you an advantage over them. Try not to let them gang up on you just the same. Oh yes, they're also immune to ALL magic, so don't even bother.
Giant
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
90% 400 10 These guys give the most experience in the whole game (besides bosses). In fact, one of them gives you the more experience than the first two bosses combined! However, they hit hard, but since you have good equipment, head-on attacks shouldn't be too much of a problem. They are also immune to magic.
Dragoon
Picture HP Exp Gold Strategy
80% 350 5 They're fast and dangerous and immune to magic. They're hard to outrun, so you can probably just equip the Power Ring and kill them off quickly. That, or equip the Time Ring to freeze them in their tracks.
