Star Ocean is an unusually complicated game to play via emulator. I've provided a bit of a "walkthrough" here. Please do not e-mail me about any of this. Try the RPGC Chat room if you're utterly stuck.

Finally, a bit of a bonus: the SPC soundtrack for Star Ocean (1.6M)! Some SPC players won't play these properly. The best one I've gotten is Super Jukebox. A contributor sent me a link to SNESAmp which supposedly plays them better. There are still three tracks (Calm Time, True Figure, and Dream And Reality) that have slightly messed-up instruments, and several others have the first split-second cut off.

If you don't want to go through all those downloads, you can instead click here to download a hacked SRM file, courtesy of Phantasian Productions. Replace your own SRM file with this before you start playing, and then enter the sound player from the intro screen. All music and SFX will be enabled! The SRM comes with three empty files, so you can just save over them if you want (I *think*).
