Key Item List

The in-game description is given, followed by where to find it and how to use it.

Ancient Fruit - "The fruit of an ancient plant that the Beeba tribe grows in order to tame Wingapedes."
-Where Found: In Hydra Marshes, in the organic section to the left of the start. Beat the Beeba (or the Goblins) to get it.
-How To Use: Use with the Beeba Flute to summon Wingapedes in the screen just to the right of where you got the Fruit, to take you to Gaea's Navel. Also lets you summon it for the reverse trip. It gets used up with a round trip, but you can get more from the Beeba (either world).
Angry Scapula - "These shoulder-blades obviously bore a lot of hatred. Perhaps the owner hated himself... while alive."
-Where Found: Search the notebook in the waterfall cave in Another Shadow Forest.
-How To Use: Collect all the pieces to get Skelly in your party.
Aroma Pouch - "When worn, it has the power to make seeds and fruit cling to you upon examining plants."
-Where Found: In the waterfall cave in Another Shadow Forest.
-How To Use: Examine a tree on the screen with the cave to get a colored blob to follow you. Go to one of the land octopi whose color matches the blob and it will follow you as well. Lead it to the Quaffid on the screen with the cave to get it to wake up. Feed it the red octopus to get it to shrink and give you a window frame instead of having to fight it.
Astral Amulet - "A small, star-colored talisman."
-Where Found: If you take Korcha's path you'll get it after finishing Viper Manor for the first time. If you take Macha's path you'll get it when Kid rejoins your party after finishing the S.S. Invincible ghost ship segment.
-How To Use: Go to Opassa Beach and use it in the green field to warp between Home and Another Worlds. Also, go one screen up in Home Hydra Marshes and use it in this green field to warp to the Dimensional Vortex. It won't work at certain parts of the game.
Beeba Flute - "A mysterious flute handed down in the Beeba tribe. It allows you to tame the wildest of Wingapedes!"
-Where Found: In Home Hydra Marshes, in the organic section to the left of the start. Beat the Beeba (or the Goblins) to get it.
-How To Use: In Korcha's path, use it on the blue platform to the right to call a Wingapede, which you have to fight. Once you have the Ancient Fruit, go one screen right of where you got the Flute and use it on the small outcropping to the lower right to call the Wingapede to take you to Gaea's Navel. (You can do this in either Home or Another Hydra Marshes). Also use it to return to the marshes from Gaea's Navel.
Bellflower - "A blue blossom that only blooms in the Fossil Valley."
-Where Found: Another Fossil Valley, top level.
-How To Use: Give to Glenn in Another Termina (first time you're there). Strategic effects of this scene are unknown.
Big Egg - "A huge egg found in the Fossil Valley. What kind of egg it is remains yet unknown!"
-Where Found: Another Fossil Valley.
-How To Use: Go down the elevator in Home Fort Dragonia and use on the central machine to get Draggy in your party.
Black Relic - "A special treasure received from the Black Dragon God at Marbule."
-Where Found: If you didn't resurrect Home Marbule, just talk to the Black Dragon in Another Marbule (top left cave) to get it. If you did ressurrect it, you have to fight the Dragon for it.
-How To Use: Needed to get Steena and the Dragon Tear.
Book of Poems - "Untitled. Looks like a cheap, hand-made book with a simple decoration of grassy patterns."
-Where Found: Talk to the barmaid in Home Arni after beating Chronopolis.
-How To Use: Give to the barmaid in Another Arni for a Rainbow Shell.
Blue Relic - "A special treasure received from the Blue Dragon God at Water Dragon Isle."
-Where Found: Fight the WaterDragon in Home Water Dragon Isle.
-How To Use: Needed to get Steena and the Dragon Tear.
Card Key - "A security pass built with futuristic technology that makes it impossible to duplicate."
-Where Found: In the upper-left room of the 4th floor of Chronopolis.
-How To Use: Allows you to take the elevator to floor B1.
Chrono Cross - "The ultimate, long-lost Element of the seventh color attribute."
-Where Found: Use the Tears of Love and Hate in the altar in Divine Dragon Falls in Another World.
-How To Use: If you don't have the Mastermune, you can use it to get Kid back. Use it as an Element during the final battle to get the "good" ending. In New Game+, use it in the Dimensional Vortex to get all your characters from your previous game.
Decor Shield - "A beautiful shield made for completely ornamental purposes. Not of any use in a real battle."
-Where Found: In the trap-filled room in Another Viper Manor.
-How To Use: Put on the suit of armor missing a shield to fight the Man-At-Arms and Man-Of-Wars. This causes the switch (flipped by moving the viper statue into its slot) to open a door instead of causing Gloops to fall down.
Dragon Emblem - "A traditional crest passed down the generations at the Dragon Shrine. The design looks familiar..."
-Where Found: Show the Tear of Hate to Direa in Another Guldove.
-How To Use: Show to the man outside the shaman's tent in Home Guldove to enter.
Dragon Tear - "A legendary treasure that enables its possessor to switch bodies with someone else."
-Where Found: Steena gives it to you in Home Guldove.
-How To Use: Automatically flips all the switches in Home Fort Dragonia; use to get Serge back in the topmost room. Turns into the Tear of Love.
Einlanzer - "The legendary dragon sword Garai once wielded. It is the only sword able to beat Masamune's evil power."
-Where Found: In Home Isle of the Damned; beat Garai to get it.
-How To Use: You need it to enter the Dead Sea. Glenn can also equip it as a weapon.
Explosive - "An explosive device used by excavation teams. =Handle with care!="
-Where Found: Talk to a man inside Home Earth Dragon Isle.
-How To Use: Use on one of the Rockroaches to plug a sand boil.
Fiddler Crab - "A sculpture of a fiddler crab with a claw that shines like a blue jewel. Said to be able to control the tides."
-Where Found: Beat the Sage in the S.S. Zelbess for it.
-How To Use: Use near the Dead Sea to open an entrance to it.
Garai Keepsake - "Just an old mirror... Why it is said to be a memento of Garai will never be known."
-Where Found: Radius will give it to you in Home Hermit's Hideaway.
-How To Use: Use it to pass through the glass in Isle of the Damned (either world).
Good Backbone - "A spine with good posture that must have come from a grandma's loving training in its former life."
-Where Found: Another Hydra Marshes.
-How To Use: Collect all the pieces to get Skelly in your party.
Green Relic - "A special treasure received from the Green Dragon God at Gaea's Navel."
-Where Found: Fight the Tyrano and Green Dragon in Home Gaea's Navel.
-How To Use: Needed to get Steena and the Dragon Tear.
Green Tinkler - "Marsh plants react to the sound of this bell, bending to open the way without you having to touch them."
-Where Found: Talk to the dwarf in the bar in Another Arni once you have your boat. You can't get this once Lynx is in your party.
-How To Use: In Another Hydra Marshes, use it to make the plants bend down to let you walk on them.
Handle - "A detachable crank-handle that serves as proof that the casino is rigged."
-Where Found: Upstairs in the inn in the S.S. Zelbess.
-How To Use: Lets you win against Fargo in the casino.
Heavy Skull - "A human skull painted with clown's makeup. It says it is searching for its body and lost memories."
-Where Found: In Another Fossil Valley, top level.
-How To Use: Collect all the pieces to get Skelly in your party.
Heckran Bone - "The leg bone of a wild Heckran. Perfect for making stock to be used in soups and stews!"
-Where Found: In the top right room of the bar (top right house) in Home Arni.
-How To Use: Show it to Poshul (left of the main screen) in Home Arni to get her to join. Useless once you've finished Another Cape Howl.
Hero's Medal
-Where Found: In Termina; talk to the kid running around in front of Zappa's house.
-How To Use: Give to Pierre to get him to join your party. Doing this means you can't get Guile or Nikki.
Hydra Humour - "Refined from the body fluids of a Hydra, this liquid is the only known antidote for hydra poison."
-Where Found: If you took Korcha's path, you can beat the Hydra in Home Hydra Marshes to get this and revive Kid.
-How To Use: Go to Another Guldove and give it to Doc.
Ice Breath - "The cold breath of the Water Dragon has the power to freeze even piping-hot magma."
-Where Found: In Home Water Dragon Isle, after talking to the Water Dragon. You can't get this once you've finished Mount Pyre.
-How To Use: In Mount Pyre (either world), stand in the magma and use it to freeze the lava. You can't get any submerged chests on that screen once you've done it, though. Nor can you walk up the magma flow in one of the screens. Also you can use it to cool down the hot ground in Another Hermit's Hideaway, which lets you get Turnip in the same place in Home World.
Ice Gun - "A quick-freeze gun Lucca made so babysitters could fight fires. =Keep out of the reach of children!="
-Where Found: In Kid's flashback near the end of the game: up the top left steps, at the top right of the room.
-How To Use: Put out the fires blocking your way here. You can also use it for all the same things as the Ice Breath.
Komodo Scale - "The colorful scale of a large lizard used to make the necklaces that are all the rage in Arni Village."
-Where Found: Talk to the fisherman on the left side of Home Arni and cheer him up.
-How To Use: Give to Kiki's suitor at the right side of the screen for an Uplift Element.
Life Sparkle - "A botanical energy that will give life to the NeoFio -- a man-made half-human, half-plant lifeform."
-Where Found: Another Hydra Marshes, where the Hydra was in the Home World.
-How To Use: Go to the balcony in Another Viper Manor and use it at the lake to get NeoFio in your party.
Manor Key - "The key to the front door of Viper Manor borrowed from the old stableman. Bears Viper's insignia."
-Where Found: Feed the dragons in the dragon stable in Viper Manor, then examine the chest in the top right.
-How To Use: Open the door to Viper Manor one screen left of the stables.
Medical Book - " ='Cray's Anatomy'= Revealing the wonders of the human body. (Rated R.)"
-Where Found: Northwest of the train station in the Tower of Geddon.
-How To Use: Show to Doc in Another Guldove to get his HangTen technique.
MementoPendant - "A beautiful, intricately-made pendant that once belonged to Dario's mother."
-Where Found: Beat Solt and Peppor in Another Isle of the Damned for it.
-How To Use: You need it in order to fight Dario. You can also equip it as an accessory.
Mixed Bones - "It is impossible to tell which bone is which. You'll just have to try putting them in some kind of order."
-Where Found: Another Isle of the Damned (top left).
-How To Use: Collect all the pieces to get Skelly in your party.
Mushroom - "An expensive delicacy found only in the Guardia region. It's sort of like truffles without the chocolate."
-Where Found: Beat the Wraith in front of the hole in the cave section of Home Shadow Forest to get it; or, if you pushed the rock into the hole in Another Shadow Forest, look around the bottom right of the screen for the man to come out the other end.
-How To Use: Give it to the man inside the waterfall cave in Home Shadow Forest to get Funguy in your party, and a Forest Charm.
Parlor Key - "A key to the Parlor of Viper Manor that was found in the manor prison. Probably hidden by a lazy guard."
-Where Found: In the basement of Viper Manor, among the boxes in the lower left.
-How To Use: Use it on the second-from-left door on the top floor.
Pelvic Bone - "Even from the pelvis, you can see this person had good posture. It is important to have good posture!"
-Where Found: Talk to the trader in Another Guldove.
-How To Use: Collect all the pieces to get Skelly in your party.
Prison Key - "A key that opens the dungeon-like prison beneath Viper Manor."
-Where Found: Another's Norris gives it to you.
-How To Use: Use it on the prison doors in either Viper Manor to open them.
Prop Sword - "A sword stage-prop found in the ruins of a theater."
-Where Found: In the Tower of Geddon.
-How To Use: Give to Pierre once you have Serge back; you'll get the Hero's Blade and SlapOfCyrus technique.
Red Relic - "A special treasure received from the Red Dragon God at Mount Pyre."
-Where Found: Fight the FireDragon in Another Mount Pyre.
-How To Use: Needed to get Steena and the Dragon Tear.
Relief Charm - "No need to participate in battles when friends can fight for you!"
-Where Found: Automatically at start of New Game+.
-How To Use: Use in the world map or at save points to switch lead characters. Serge will still be shown while walking around, but another character can fight for him in battles.
Safety Gear - "Poison-resistant clothing that an exploration party had spare to lend to amateur adventurers."
-Where Found: Talk to the captain on the blue platform in Another Hydra Marshes (in the organic section, left of start).
-How To Use: Stops you from being hurt by the evil green stuff in Another Hydra Marshes.
Sapphire Brooch - "A brooch that has a blue stone, which appears to have been broken in two, set inside of it."
-Where Found: Given to you by Orlha in Another Guldove when you beat her.
-How To Use: Give to Orlha once you get Serge back to get her to join your party.
Shark Tooth - "An amulet Kiki's father made from a lion shark tooth ten years ago, when he decided to be a fisherman."
-Where Found: Talk to Kiki's father in the lower right house in Home Arni. You have to do this before going to Another World for the first time.
-How To Use: After you've been through Another Cape Howl, return to Another Arni and show this to Kiki's father in this world to get Mojo in your party.
Smith Spirit - "Wherever there's a customer, a blacksmith will be there! Just summon the master smith's spirit."
-Where Found: Talk to Zappa twice in Home Termina.
-How To Use: Use on the world map or save points to be able to forge/disassemble/sell equipment.
Star Fragment - "It looks just like an ordinary starfish, but is said to have a secret power."
-Where Found: At the center of Home El Nido Triangle.
-How To Use: You need this to be able to fight MegaStarky in Home Sky Dragon Isle and get Starky in your party; you can also equip it as an accessory.
Station Pass - "Without this pass, it is impossible to proceed through the station's turnstiles."
-Where Found: In a room (train station) in the Tower of Geddon. Talk to the shadow at the lower right, then search the place where it disappears.
-How To Use: Allows you to go through the gates at the north end of the same screen, and pick up two treasures.
Sturdy Ribs - "The owner must have done various gymnastics and acrobatics in order to build a body this solid."
-Where Found: Talk to the man near the dried-up waterfall in Another Water Dragon Isle.
-How To Use: Collect all the pieces to get Skelly in your party.
Tear of Hate - "A shard of the shattered Dragon Tear."
-Where Found: Given to you in Another Termina by Karsh once you finish the Dead Sea.
-How To Use: Use along with the Tear of Love in Another Divine Dragon Falls to get the Chrono Cross.
Tear of Love - "A shard of the shattered Dragon Tear."
-Where Found: Received once you get Serge back.
-How To Use: Use along with the Tear of Hate in Another Divine Dragon Falls to get the Chrono Cross.
Tele-Porter - "Lets you change party members on the world map or when standing in reach of Records of Fate."
-Where Found: Kid gives it to you in Termina near the start of the game.
-How to use: Self-explanatory.
Time Egg - "A legendary item that is a complete enigma. It is believed to break the bonds of time."
-Where Found: After beating Terra Tower; in New Game+, when you wake up in Arni for the first time.
-How To Use: Use in the purple field in Opassa Beach to fight the final battle.
Time Shifter - "Controls the flow of time... R2 button = Fast Forward L2 button = Slow Motion"
-Where Found: Automatically at start of New Game+.
-How To Use: At any time in the game (besides for loading times and FMVs) use the R2 button to speed up the game or the L2 button to slow it down.
Yellow Relic - "A special treasure received from the Yellow Dragon God at Earth Dragon Isle."
-Where Found: Fight the EarthDragon in Home Earth Dragon Isle.
-How To Use: Needed to get Steena and the Dragon Tear.
White Relic - "A special treasure received from the White Dragon God at Sky Dragon Isle."
-Where Found: After beating the other five Dragons, talk to the White Dragon at Another Sky Dragon Isle and fight him for it.
-How To Use: Needed to get Steena and the Dragon Tear.
