Sephy
After watching that scene, grab Sephy's Ball of Shadows attack from the chest that's just past the giant tree from your starting point. After that proceed toward the tower. Time to play as Sephy for a minute. Make your way to the vines by jumping from one piece of the floating wood to the other. When you beging to climb the vines follow this nice little path: up, right, up, left, up, right till end, then jump off onto the ledge. If you followed this correctly, Sephy will jump into the tower and open the gate.
When you enter you are faced with some traps. These traps just happen to be slinging blades. Sounds fun doesn't it? Use Orphen to stand in front of the blades (not too close), and when they go up run like hell! After the third blade there is a treasure chest off to the side. Get it then proceed past the final blade and hop onto the elevator to be taken to the next floor of the tower. Here you are faced with another trap. This one isn't so difficult. Just jump on over to the other side, snag the treasure, and hop on the elevator. Walk around the bottom part of this room and get the goodies from the two chests. This puzzle/trap isn't hard at all. Keep jumping on the cogs that spin around. Jump from one to the highest one you can reach. Becareful not to fall or you'll plummet down to the last floor. Keep doing this until you can jump onto the high ledge.
Now you're back where you started...only in the present. I'm not gonna tell you why the area is titled with "(present)" since the game will explain it all in a bit of time. Look at your area map and go to the dead end, while collecting the treasures you come across. The path will be split in two. Take the left one and grab the goodies then take the right path to progress further.
Explore a bit and obtain what little treasures there are. Watch out for the icicles. They do damage so I suggest you take them out with your projectile or sword attack. Continue on until you find another piece of the egg.
Explore a bit and snag your treasures from...the treasure chests. After that, head back to your starting point. You will then gain control of Sephy. Jump from platform to platform to reach the Curin Tree. Don't forget to grab the items from the chests along the way. When you've reached the tree, hit the switch. The switch will reveal a new path. Take the new path that leads to a few treasures, and the exit.
Go up the pathway using the many bridges. And lets not forget to grab our goodies, shall we?
Follow this nice little path until you come to a wall with a small hole in it. Walk up to it to being all that dialogue. After that prepare for a VERY dangerous trap. Two hits from it and you can kiss your ass good-bye. Meaning you get to listen all that dialogue...again. There's only one way to get over this trap, and thats to try and jump through the gap that both rows of spikes have made. Timing is everything. Once you've gotten over it jump over the rest of the spikes that aren't has deadly. Use items if you must since I know you don't wanna listen to that dialogue and have to try and jump over that first trap again. When you reach the end of this area, jump down the pit and continue onward. Follow this path to another pit. Jump down it and examine the bull-headed statue. Watch the scene. Think you know the riddle? I sure as hell do, but even if I told you it wouldn't do any good. Go back up toward the pit where you'll see a scene that involves Volcan and Dorton. Get up there and "talk" with them for the answer, and head back to the statue. Looks like we have a new path to follow. Snag the goodies and continue. Look at all the traps that someone set up. These traps are actually pretty easy. When you get to the axes, step right in front of them and when they swing to a side you run past the swinging axes. Repeat this for all of the axes you encounter. On the next floor You'll come across more axes...and giant rolling boulders. Tell me you don't feel like Indiana Jones. Anyway, just becareful not to let either of them hit you. On to the next floor! just hug the wall until you get to the exit to avoid the falling spikes. On the next floor there are more swinging axes. Try not to hit the weak spots on the floor. It will send you back to the falling spikes area. Continue the path and be prepared for a... BOSS FIGHT! Minotaur This boss can be extremely difficult. You can't use your projectiles or anything else on him except your sword, seeing as how nothing else will do damage. Shield up at the start of the fight to avoid his fire explosion...thing. When he starts to charge swing your sword at him. Do this enough and it will knock him back. Sounds easy but its not. If he manages to push you back far enough...you fall a long way down a pit...resulting in instant death. It might take a few tries to get rid of him, but its worth it.
Cross the bridge and into the rest house. Talk to everyone upstairs until they leave. Then head back across the bridge into the tomb. Talk to Sephy to get your adventure rolling again.
After reuniting with your group, that old lady will send you plummeting....into her nice little dungeon. Using Magnus, jump on the weakened part of the floor until he falls threw. The next are might seem a little difficult since Magnus can't attack. Meaning you will have to avoid all of the monsters. Grab the goodies while hitting switches until you reach a big area. Just repeatedly jump on the platform to reach the next area of the dungeon. FInd a weakened wall inbetween two flickering flames. Have Magnus push it until it reveals a new passage. Lets proceed. Just jump on the weakened parts of the floor again at the end of the area. You should now be in an area full of paths and stairs. There are big hands that will appear out from the darkness so watch out for them.
I hope your use to dodging those falling spikes and swinging axes by now, because there's plenty. Continue avoiding traps and picking up all treasures. Hit the first switch that you come across. This will move one of an iron boulder. Do NOT hit the second switch. You don't wanna get smacked by an iron boulder do you? Continue your path until you find a pit. Jump down and be prepared for a puzzle. When you reach the next area, collect all the treasures, then go find Sephy and Magnus, who tell Orphen to get inside a cage. Do just that to move the cage. After that, look for a cage with a statue in it. Push the statue out of it to move that cage as well. Find a room that has a buncha cages, then jump on them until you reach a scene that shows a cage rising up to reveal stairs. It's the same room that contained the Dance of Wind, so return to the room and go down the stairs. You will now enter hallways with arrow shooting statues. Collect the treasures and proceed. Don't bother worrying over the arrows since they cause very little damage.
Push the statue that has a head into the corner to create a stairway that will lead up to the next level. Repeat this process on each level until you reach the foot of the temple. Walk around the base of the temple until you reach a strange looking block. Sephy takes over and you will now have to lead her to the top. The first puzzle is easy. Go from one side of the room to the next, but beware of the walls that pop up. They can easily block you in (the most frustrating part of this puzzle). If you end up completely stuck, hit a switch to start the puzzle over again. Otherwise, push the block on the opposite end of the room out, and return to the outside of the temple. Walk around to the other side of the temple, and climb up the block Sephy just pushed out. Look for an entrance to another room on the second floor of the temple. This puzzle may seem a bit more trickier than the last, but its nothing you can't handle. Jump on the ledge and push the first block off of it. This happens to make a wall pop up. Circle around the wall to activate another pop up wall. Now push the first block to make a pathway for the second block. Jump up behind the second block and use it to reach the next exit. Just jump up to the next level, walk around, and prepare for a... BOSS FIGHT! Statue & Skeletons Don't bother going for the Skeletons. They will just continue to revive themselves until the Statue is out of the picture, so take it out. Lock onto it and attack with the Hand of Pyro. It will hit the Skeletons, but Magnus and Sephy will help you out as well. They'll attack the Skeletons, giving you a path to the Statue. When this happens, charge up your sword and attack it like there's no tomorrow! Sooner or later you'll destroy it.
Talk to everyone in the rest house until they leave again, then head back to the tomb area to rejoin Sephy. Head through the new door to continue. You have plenty of time for Sephy to make a pathway to the exit, so make sure you grab the Herb. This item will restore all of your HP.
As Magnus, proceed down the tower. The traps are the same as the first time around, so you should be able to get to the bottom with ease. When you do reach the bottom, flip all the switches and continue on. As Orphen and Sephy, make your way down to the bottom of the tower where Magnus was. You'll find him missing, and you will also find some monsters. After you get rid of them, look for a passage behind the sand to continue on. After you enter the passage, keep going until you find a ladder. Find Magnus and some treasure, then move onward. BOSS FIGHT! Golnath This boss is no different than Gariga. Use the exact same tactics with him. You can also hit the falling rocks, which will break and hit Golnath. Just make sure he's dead before he destroys all of your foot holds, that will lead to instant death. Congrats! You've completed Sephy's part of the quest! Now continue to either the Zeus or Mar part of the walkthrough to continue your quest. |
