Helwig to Swaffham

Now what is wrong with this town? It seems that
all of the men have been taken to Methuen's Cave
as slaves of Cartahena to dig for gold. This woman
gives you a Map to Methuen's Cave.
The only Shops are item and Spell. In the spell
Shop, buy Extrios, which will allow you to exit a
cave. Rest and save then head for Methuen's Cave.
To get to Methuen's Cave, go south until you reach
the dead end, then west, then north, west again, and
when you come to a road going south, take it and go
west from that road. At the last crossing, go north
and it should take you to Methuen's Cave.
The map to the first floor is here. There are no
treasures in this cave whatsoever (except for the
maps). For a complete map of Methuen's Cave,
click on the link. It doesn't matter which stairs you
take. The quickest route is to take the stairs in the
upper-center part.
Here is the map to this floor. Again, no other
treasures here. Take the stairs at the lower part
of the floor.
Here is where the men are being held. Talk to this
one and he says that he is going home and invites
Erik to the celebration. Walk out or use Extrios and
then walk back or use Aeris (I recommend walking
just to gain Exp).
Once back to Helwig, talk around and people will
thank Erik for saving them. This man gives you the
Secret Key (the use for now, I a Secret). Save the
Key.
This woman gives you a Map to Swaffham. People
in town say that the King there, who has the Ring
of Earth, is very stingy. There is also a man in town
who says that he is looking for the Dragon Shield,
which is in Helwig. Hmmm. This could be interesting.
Time for another small sidequest. Talk to this old
woman and she will say that everybody has someone
but her. She gives you a sketch of herself. She asks
Erik to give it to somebody who would like to see
her after seeing the painting. Fly to Keltwick.
Use the Old Woman's Sketch when standing in front
of the Old Man. He will take it. Talk to him and
he will give you a sketch of himself. Talk to him again
and he will tell you that by a lone tree to the north
is a treasure of his ancestors. It is the Crimson
Armor, which is not even as strong as the Gold
Armor. Don't bother with it.
Give the Old Woman the Old Man's Sketch. She
will start to write him a letter, and in return for Erik's
kindness, she gives him the Dragon Shield, the 2nd
Strongest Shield in the game (although, it was plenty
strong for me). Rest up and start for Swaffham. And
don't forget to equip the Dragon Shield (you should
by now have Toxios, so don't worry about poison).
Go the way you were going to Methuen's Cave.
Instead of going south, go this way. The rest of the
road is a straight (or not so straight) shot.
After a short trip, you will end up here. Now
prepare for the longest step of the game.
