Giant Crab

Note: All artifacts in the 'Artifact Drop' list with a asterix next to it can only be received in that level by beating the boss.
It cannot be found naturally within that level.
Also note that just because you receive (for example) 140+ points, doesn't mean you'll get the Artifact set that requires 139+ points. You may get the 102+ points artifact set or less. You just simply meet the requirements for that particular set to appear.

Strategy

The Giant Crab is a methodical killer, meaning it sticks itself in attack patterns which are easy to deduce and counteract. There are three phases to this battle: With its jagged scythe attached, with its helmet on and then being totally defenseless. No one character should have much trouble bringing down the crab. As long as you keep moving and avoid his bubbles, you should run around the crab faster than it can turn. Later in the battle when the Crab takes time to cast spells, that's when it is easiest to let loose a triple-fused spell. Some of its attacks include:

Bubble SpurtA soapy bubble that trails along after you for a while. If hit, you will suffer extreme slowness: To prevent the bubble from hitting you, its best to run around the crab itself. The bubble cannot make that hairpin turn and will eventually disappear.
Claw SwipeThe Crab will swipe at you with his extended claw, knocking you back: Simply run away once the Crab walks towards your position and stops in front of you.
Charge BlastAfter scratching his head, he'll release a huge electrical charge that will stun you for several seconds: When you see his scratching motion, simply move out of the way to dodge it easily.
Head RamOnce his talon is gone, he'll try to run up to you and bash you with his helmet: As before with his talon, as he runs up and stops in front of you, simply run away to avoid the radius damage.
ThundaraWhen the beast is completely defenseless of both talon and helmet, he'll start casting deadly Thundara spells: To prevent being stunned and hurt, simply move out of the way if you see the spell being cast underneath you and fire back at it with a spell of your own.

Later Cycles: Other than the increasing amounts of Mus that join the battle, the fight won't be much different in cycle 2. However, in cycle 3, he can obliterate you with his newly acquired Thundaga spell. It has an extremely wide radius and can stun you for more than just a few seconds. Get as far away from him as you can when you see him cast this.
