Pirates and the Red Ring

Once you exit the Ancient Tower, collect
any Gasha Nuts that you can. Head to
Horon Village and go down the stairs
at 16-H. Guide the Magic Boomerang
over to the switch to make a bridge
appear to the portal. Go into the portal
to Subrosia.
Go down the stairs twice and talk to the
captain. He asks that you find his bell.
Go upstairs and talk to the pirate on the
right. Remember the order that he opens
the cabnets in. With that said, head back
to Horon through the portal and go to
the Eastern Suburbs. Go south the
very first thing and then east.
Talk to the pirate and he will leave. Now
if you remember the order of the
cabnet opening, then you will do fine.
Else, I guess I have to bail you out. Press
the 3rd block twice, 2nd block once,
1st block twice, and the 4th block 3
times. That will open the way to the
Samasa Desert. This place is pretty tough,
but nothing that can't be handled. A
Quicksand Ring would be very good at
this point.
Either way, head to 15-O. Enter the
ship and talk to the ghost. He says that
he died in a sandstorm looking for the
bell. He said to find his skull and that
he will help find the bell. Head northeast
past the quicksand to find his skull at
12-P. Talk to it then pick it up with the
Power Bracelet.
There are a few places the bell could be.
But they are all under the quicksand.
With the Quicksand ring off, just enter
the quicksand without falling. If the skull
starts to chatter, then fall down that hole
and the bell should be right there. Grab
it and the skull will disappear. Exit the
cave and head back to Subrosia via the
Horon portal. Go to the Subrosian
Smithy to have the bell polished. Tell them
to "Do it!" and they will do it.
Take the bell back to the captain and
he will take you to the ship. The ship
charges through the barrier between
worlds and out to the Sea of Holodrum.
However, the pirates all get seasick so
they port on the western coast, which
now bridges the gap between the
bridges. Now before you go on to
level 7, there is one more thing you
should do.
Go to North Horon and change the
season to Summer. Go to Gnarled Root
and go down the ladder. Go down the
stairs which are now revealed and talk
to the man inside. He says to slay the
4 golden beasts and return to him so that
he can give you his power.
Use a Gale Seed and warp to the
Woods of Winter. Go to the stump and
change the season to Autumn. Go to
the entrance of Snake's Remains and
there will be a Gold Moblin. Gold beasts
take forever to kill. If you have it,
equip the Power Ring L-2 and your
Iron Shield. If it attacks, use the shield
to block it. Spin attack a few times and
the beast should die after a while.
Warp to Tarm Ruins and go to the Lost
Woods. Make your way to 5-C then
change the season to Winter. Go to 5-D
and meet the Gold Centaur. This one
is tricky because the centaurs can shoot
magic from their sword. Keep your
distance and use spin attacks for your
attack. Keep it up and after a while,
another gold beast will be gone.
Warp to Spool Swamp and change the
season to Summer. Make your way to
the southern part of the swamp to 13-A.
There you will meet a Gold Octorok.
Same strategy here. Spin attack and
block the attacks with the Iron Shield.
This one shouldn't be too tough, but
who knows. Once you kill it, you have
1 more to go.
Warp to Horon Village and then go to
the Western Coast. From the Pirate Ship,
go north and through the house to the
Stump. Change the season to Spring and
head directly east of the Hero's Cave to
14-F. Here you will find a Gold Soldier.
I find it easier to have him spot you and
to hide behind the upper ledge and then
just slash away. Or you could use the
same strategy again. Either way, kill it.
Talk to the man again and he will give
you a ring. Have it appraised and it will
be a Red Ring. Immediatly equip it!
This is the best ring in this game. When
ready, go back to the western coast and
change the season to summer. Head
west and climb the vines and head north
to the Explorer's Crypt.
