Federation

Amuro

	Age: 15

Information:
Amuro is the hero of the Mobile Suit Gundam era of the Universal Century timeline. At the beginning of the series we meet Amuro as technology and electronics whiz-kid living on Side 7. The infiltration and attack of the Federation's "Project V" prototypes by the three Zeon Zakus serves as Amuro's introduction into the war. Amuro discovers the Federation's new Gundam mobile suit which he commandeers to elminate two of the Zakus in order to save Side 7 from destruction. Amuro serves as the focal point for the majority of the series. During this period Amuro interacts with many people while coming to terms with his awakening Newtype abilities and enduring the horrible tragedies of war one after another. Though the main focus of the story is upon Amuro and his experiences during the war, the rivalry between Amuro and Zeon's Newtype ace pilot Char Aznable can be thought of as a secondary focal point.

Bright Noa

	Age: 19

Information:
Bright is a Federation's cadet officer who only has roughly 6 months of experience under his belt. Bright was an officer on the Federation's new battle ship, the White Base, which docks at Side 7 at the beginning of the battle. The period immediately following the chaotic hours of the attack on Side 7 by Zeon finds Bright as the new commanding officer of the White Base. Since Bright is the only officer, therefore much stricter than the civilian turned soldiers, he often clashes with his headstrong pilots, most noteably Amuro with Kai as a close second.

Fraw Bow

	Age: 15

Information:
Fraw is introduced as being Amuro's neighbor on Side 7 since he and his father had been there. Once she and the other citizens of Side 7 are drafted, she takes on numerous non-combat duties on board the White Base. Most notably are ration distribution and baby-sitting the three mischievious orphans, Katz, Letz, and Kikka. In the beginning Fraw and Amuro's relationship seems to be one of more than just friends, but this changes over the course of the series. As Amuro's Newtype abilities emerge, pilot skills increase, and his ego swells, Fraw becomes distant to Amuro, emerging herself in chores around the ship to keep her mind off of it.

Hayato Kobayashi

	Age: 15

Information:
Hayato was one of Amuro's neighbors on Side 7. Like the other citizens of Side 7, Hayato is drafted by the Federation and becomes a full-time crew member of the White Base. On board the White Base, Hayato volunteers himself for pilot training in an attempt to best Amuro due to a rivalry they had as neighbors. Hayato is initally one of the two pilots required to pilot the Guntank. Ryu Jose drives the Guntank inside the central area of the Guntank, and Hayato mans the armaments from the cockpit inside the head. After Ryu's death, the Guntank is modified so it can be controlled by one person via the cockpit in the head. Hayato continues to pilot the Guntank until the White Base reaches Jaburo and receives a second Guncannon. The remainder of the war finds Hayato in the cockpit of this new Guncannon.

Kai Shiden

	Age: 17

Kai's a really great character that provides comical relief to break up the tense atmosphere of the war. You can be certain that Kai always has a smartass remark about the current situation ready. Throughout the war Bright is constantly busting Kai's chops for being so pessimistic. Kai pilots the Guncannon prototype that was loaded on board the White Base from Side 7. During the early stages of the war, Kai can usually be found complaining or hiding from the enemies during battle. Though he doesn't want to fight, he will fight when he knows he must. As the war drags on and Kai is able to understand why his peers are fighting, he picks up the pace and stops complaining when he has to fight.

Kai Shiden

Matilda Ajan

Information:
Matilda is the commander of the Federation's Supply Corps that always shows up with needed supplies for the White Base whenever its in trouble. And since she's quite the looker, she finds herself starring in the dreams of the majority of the White Base's male crew members, if you know what I mean. ;)

Ryu Jose

	Age: 18
	Rank: Chief Petty Officer
Information:
Ryu is a Federation soldier that was stationed aboard the White Base during its mission to Side 7. Ryu is often seen either piloting a core fighter or working the driving mechanisms for the Guntank alongside Hayato. Ryu meets his untimely demise when he flys his core fighter into the Gallop to save Amuro.

Sayla Mass

	Age: 17

Information:
Her real name is Artesia Deikun, daughter of the late Zeon Deikun and sister of Char Aznable. Following the assassination of their father, Artesia and Casaval are kept in hiding by Jimba Ral (Ramba Ral's father) for protection from the assassins. After the two Zeon heirs split ways, Artesia changes her name to Sayla Mass and enrolls in the Federation to fight the Zabis, who killed her father.

Sleggar Law

	Age:

Information:
Sleggar's an arrogant jerk fighter pilot that is transfered to the White Base during its time at Jaburo. The women on board the White Base loathe Sleggar for his flirtatious ways. He sacrifices himself during the Battle of Solomon to damage the Big Zam's I-Field.

Zeon

Char Aznable

	Age: 20
	Rank: Lieutenant Commander
Information:
Following the Battle of Loum, Char Aznable earns the nickname "the Red Comet" for shooting down five of the Federation Salamis class warships with a single Zaku. Over the course of the series Char develops a rivalry with the Gundam's pilot, Amuro Ray, which is further escalated when Amuro unintentionally kills Char's protege, Lalah Sune, in battle. It is worth noting that Char's birth name is Casaval Deikun. He is the heir to the Deikun legacy his father, Zeon Deikun whom was murdered, left and the brother of Sayla Mass. As a child Casaval runs away from his foster home, changes his name to Char Aznable, and enrolls in the Zeon training academy. There he befriends Garma Zabi and begins to lay the foundation for his plans of revenge against the Zabis.

Conscon

Conscon is one of Dozle Zabi's highly regarded officers in space. The Conscon fleet is ordered to attack the White Base as it is departing from Side 6 during the last months of the war. Something interesting to take note of is that during the introduction text to Mission 10, Conscon is mentioned as being a rival of Char's.

Denim

Denim is one of the three Zaku pilots that infiltrates the Side 7 colony during the beginning of the series. He and Gene pilot the two Zakus you fight in the first mission of the game.

Dmitri

Information:
Dmitri is an idiot that looks like he came from the same incestual gene pool as the Black Trinary pilots. Dmitri disobeys orders and takes the Zakrello out in pursuit of the White Base. He is killed in battle by Amuro in the Gundam shortly after.

Dozle Zabi

	Age: 28
	Rank: Vice Admiral
Information:
Dozle oversees and commands the majority of Zeon's space forces from Solomon. During the battle of Solomon, with Zeon forces having been reduced to 50%, Dozle enters battle against the Federal Forces in the new Big Zam mobile armor. Though he inevitably meets his defeat at the hands of the Gundam, Dozle is able to deliever a devastating blow to the Federation's space forces before his death.

Gaia

Gaia is the leader of the "Black Trinary" (the "Black Tri-stars" in the english dubs), a Zeon ace pilot trio consisting of Gaia, Mash, and Ortega. The Black Trinary first establish themselves as a recognizable force during the Battle of Loum when they capture General Revil's ship. Once Operation Odessa is launched, the Black Trinary is ordered to Earth (they had stationed in space until this time) to reinforce the defenses of M'quve's ground forces. There famous "Jet-stream" attack proves futile against Amuro and the Gundam, who destroys the Trinary.

Garma Zabi

	Age: 20
	Rank: Captain
Information:
Being the youngest member of the Zabi family lends itself to Garma to be treated differently by the rest of his family. Dozle Zabi, his older brother, appoints Garma to head of Zeon's North American operations. During his days at the Zeon Training Academy as a youth, Garma developed a friendship with Char Aznable. This friendship, however, would prove to be a fatal mistake for Garma.

Gene

Gene is one of the three mobile suits that infiltrates Side 7 in the beginning. Gene pilots one of the two Zakus you fight in the first mission of the game.

Lalah Sune

Information:
Lalah was the top ranked student at the Flanegan Institute, one of Zeon's newtype research facilities. Lalah's newtype abilities is obvious, as opposed to Amuro's and Char's abilities. Following graduation, Lalah is sent to serve under Char, who she credits with saving her life, with the intention of being trained as a soldier under him. A chance meeting between Amuro and Lalah inside Side 6 sets up a series of events to occur between Lalah, Amuro, and Char in Solomon's air-space later on. Her death further fuels the hatred between Char and Amuro and adds to the conflict of the Char's Counterattack motion picture.

Kycilia Zabi

	Age: 24

Information:
Kycilia is Degwin Zabi's only daughter. As commander of Zeon's Special Forces, she is a sly, clever, and ingenious tactician. She's not really seen much until late in the war though. If you want to learn more about Kycilia I recommend you check out the Johnny Ridden manga. The manga is centered primarily around Johnny Ridden (one of Zeon's ace pilots) and his involvement in the One Year War, but Kycilia is mentioned quite a bit throughout the manga (it leads you onto believe Kycilia was involved with Ridden).

Ramba Ral

Information:
Ramba Ral is a member of Zeon's Space Forces who was dispatched by Dozle Zabi to Earth to avenge Garma's death. Ramba Ral earned the title the "Blue Giant" for his use of mobile suits with a blue color scheme (he piloted a blue Zaku I early in the war). The Ramba Ral unit is ultimately forced to launch a suicide infantry attack on the White Base due to the lack of supplies and reinforcements caused by bickering within the Zabi family.
