F1 Walkthrough

Corak's Notes on F1:

Only fools make their homes among the slopes of the Mutant Mountains, as they are very unsteady and highly prone to avalanche. But fools there are, for nature is not the only danger in this northern region. Evil agents wander the snowy terrain in search of hapless victims.

Monsters in the area: Archers, Cursed Fools.

Map of F1

Dragon Cavern.

Pyramid of Air.

Ultimate Warrior of Life. If you donate 10000 gold here, the HP of all party members will be increased by 500, even if that puts them over their maximum. Nothing will happen to a party member that already surpassed his/her maximum HP somehow, though.

Avalanche area. Do NOT step on any of these spaces, or you will cause an avalanche, which will hit all party members for 50 damage, and causing the space to become a mountain instead of flat land.

Yet another straightforward area with no monster lairs that need destroying. All you need to do is kill the Archers and Evil Fools around here once, and they'll be gone forever. A task which shouldn't be hard at all by the time you get to this area. Just be careful not to trigger any avalanches while exploring.

As is the case in most outside areas, there are a number of hidden treasures around. Here's where to find them:

* In the forest two spaces north and two spaces west from the Pyramid, you can find 5000 gold and 5 random items.
* In the mountains three spaces north and two spaces east from the Pyramid, you'll find 3000 gold and 4 random items.
* Two spaces south of the Dragon Cavern, there will be 4000 gold and 5 random items.
* Five spaces south and one space west of the Dragon Cavern, there's another 6000 gold and 6 random items.

There seems to be about an equal chance of the hidden items here being excellent stuff or utter crap. Watch out, though. Each of the spots where items are hidden is protected by a trap that will deal enough damage to all party members to wipe you out if you're not prepared. You might want to stop by the Ultimate Warrior of Life before collecting them to make sure you'll survive. The first location of treasure I mentioned is a trap of a physical nature, dealing 250 damage to all party members with no way to save. The second is protected by an Acid trap, so use Protection from Elements: Acid to reduce the damage you'll take. The third and fourth have by far the deadliest of the traps protecting them. They do Energy and Magic damage respectively, and quite a bit of it too. You'll definately want to be fully healed, and have the bonus from the Ultimate Warrior of Life before touching either of those.

Now it's onward, to... whereever you decide to go next.
