Chapter 8: Rise of the Ancient Castle.

Runefaust
New Force Members: Hanzou
New Items:

Assuming you haven't already, enter Runefaust which is to the southwest of your starting position. As soon as you enter, examine the bush just above you to get Hanzou to join your party. Then, continue to the left to the statue, then north into the castle. Continue north until you find Mahoto, whom you should talk with now. Return south to the statue in the town, then head west, and when the road forks, take the southern path and then exit the town past the two guards.

Continue north and watch the scene that automatically takes place. Once it's over, enter the castle and continue north until you automatically enter Battle 26.

Enemy Party: High Priest High Priest Chimera Chimera Chimera Chimera Chimera Horseman Horseman Horseman Armed Skeleton Armed Skeleton Armed Skeleton Blue Dragon Blue Dragon Blue Dragon Cerberus Cerberus Cerberus
Conditions for Winning: Defeat all Enemies
Before doing anything else in this battle, head to the right and up the stairs to obtain the Atlas and the Halberd in the treasure chests. Now you get to test out your new best friend, the Chaos Breaker. In this battle, you don't have to worry about having spells cast on your party, so you can travel in a large group keeping healers and ranged fighters close to your front-line warriors. Stay close to the front, and when enemies start to gather, use the Chaos Breaker to cast Freeze 2 on them! Then have Domingo cast Freeze 2/3 and Tao cast Blaze 2/3 on the enemy group, which has a surprisingly large amount of HP, and they will all fall quickly. Just don't let anybody be attacked too often or, in some cases, at all, and this battle should be simple. Whoever finishes off the Armed Skeletons, however, should have at least one open spot to accept the Atlas that's dropped.
Another scene will take place, and immediately after, you will enter Battle 27.

Battle 27: Runefaust Castle 2
Battle Party:Max Domingo Lowe Kokichi Arthur Lyle Tao Mae Zylo Khris Balbaroy Amon
Enemy Party: Torch Eye Torch Eye Torch Eye Torch Eye Torch Eye Torch Eye Steel Claw Steel Claw Steel Claw Steel Claw Steel Claw Steel Claw Ramladu
Conditions for Winning: Defeat Ramladu
Line all of your characters with the highest DEF up in front of your weaker ones and let the enemy get the first attack, having your healers take care of the damage inevitably caused. Then, once all the enemies are grouped together, cast your strongest spells on them! This includes the use of weapons which cast spells, such as the Chaos Breaker which casts Freeze 2 and can seriously harm the enemy party members that are in large groups right now. If you don't want to be as dangerous, you can retreat slightly towards Ramladu, but there isn't much room for you to use to flee; just destroy them before they destroy you, then go for Ramladu. If you approach and leave space for him to go down the stairs, your party can surround him and attack him repeatedly and very effectively; otherwise, have your flying characters surround him and melee/ranged from the front and sides.
Another scene takes place, then you're free to exit the castle. Exit the room in which you just battled, then head to the left and down the stairs to exit the castle. Go to the westernmost tip of the penninsula and use the Chaos Breaker to make a large structure arise from the ocean. Then, enter the new building to the north, then continue north through the door, then again onto the teleportation pad to enter Battle 28.

Battle 28: Castle of the Ancients
Battle Party:Max Domingo Lowe Kokichi Arthur Lyle Tao Mae Zylo Khris Balbaroy Amon
Enemy Party:Chimera Chimera Chimera Chimera Chimera Chimera Jet Jet Jet Horseman Horseman Blue Dragon Blue Dragon Blue Dragon Armed Skeleton Armed Skeleton Armed Skeleton Colossus Colossus Colossus
Conditions for Winning: Defeat Main Colossus
This battle is a little more difficult than the last ones that you've been fighting. Almost all of the enemies can fly and will use that to their advantage to your land-locked party members. Keep them in a tightly locked group, as the enemies can only attack one party member at a time for now, and attack and heal as necessary. When the Chimeras gather, use Freeze 3, and when the Blue Dragons gather, use Blaze 3, which will significantly weaken them, and as always, the Chaos Breaker will do significant damage when used. Make your way through using this strategy until you reach the three Colossus heads, which you should spread your party out to face. The main head will remain at the top, so you will need flying characters to damage it as well as some spell-casters and healers when the heads use their rather strong spells. Before the battle ends, if you search the northwest wall you will find the Kaku-chan.
After the end of the battle, go up the stairs for Battle 29.

Battle 29: Darksol
Battle Party:Max Domingo Lowe Kokichi Arthur Lyle Tao Mae Zylo Khris Balbaroy Amon
Enemy Party:High Priest High Priest Torch Eye Torch Eye Torch Eye Torch Eye Torch Eye Torch Eye Torch Eye Torch Eye Steel Claw Steel Claw Steel Claw Steel Claw Steel Claw Blue Dragon Blue Dragon Darksol
Conditions for Winning: Defeat Darksol
The enemies here are the same as before save Darksol, so take your time and defeat them strategically from a distance, healing whenever necessary. On the bridge, Lyle can take out the Torch Eyes from a far enough distance so that he can't get hit in response, and Max can use the Chaos Breaker. If you're confident in your characters' stats, you can surround each enemy one at a time with your flying characters to take each unit down, but you don't want to surround Darksol immediately. Try to destroy his support units with ranged attacks before going near him, then approach and hit him with your strongest attacks. Overall, you shouldn't have too much of a problem in this battle.... but there's a good reason.
Battle 30 will begin immediately afterwards. If you Egress from the last battle, you will have to fight Battle 29 over again.

Battle 30: Dark Dragon
Battle Party:Max Domingo Lowe Kokichi Arthur Lyle Tao Mae Zylo Khris Balbaroy Amon
Enemy Party: Armed Skeleton Armed Skeleton Dark Dragon Dark Dragon Dark Dragon
Conditions for Winning: Defeat Darksol
The Armed Skeletons in this battle will regenerate where they start, so place a character on top of the black squares that can attack from that position or be otherwise useful (as a healer, mage, etc.). Aside from that, use your strongest attacks and that's it.
