Walkthrough for 250-350 HP
These are the recommended quests that you should attempt between these HP
ranges. (Note: this is not the order you have to do these quests in,
and it is possible to do quests in the next range before these.) If
there are any requirements before you can perform these quests, they will
be listed.
Fish Hunting in the Ice Lake
Quest Starts: Justern
Rewards: Don't ask for money- it can prevent the Ice Galaxy from opening.
Allows Ice Galaxy to be opened.
Requirements: none
Begin this quest by going to Justern and talking to the man in the
interesting clothing. His name is Wood, and he'll ask if you're interested
in a job. Answer yes, and Wood will tell you that it's almost hunting
seaon, and there are too many monsters. You must go to the Ice Lake
and thin the heard so to speak. You can ask for pay, but I wouldn't
recommend it, especially if your main character is Harid. Wood will
join your party if you accept. Now you can only go between two places:
Justern and the Ice Lake. From the first screen in the Ice Lake, head
north and exit. The lake in the next screen is full of fish. If
you get too close to them, they'll jump out and attack you. Head to
the east to exit this screen. |
|
|
Now, head north and up onto the ledge. Turn right and go down
the slope. Now turn right head up the path and exit to the left. In
the next room, just walk left then down to exit. Continue walking down
to the south to exit the next room... fairly simple area to navigate eh?
Walk around the ledge and exit to the north, then walk through the
northen exit in the next area which brings you into the final room. Now
just run up to the triangular shaped edge and you'll just to a small island.
A huge fish comes out of the lake and attacks you!

Lake Boss
The Lake Boss looks like some of the fish you were probably fighting earlier.
It has a tendency to block attacks for reduced damage. It regenerates
some of its HP every round from the water in the air. I recommend using
waza like Flying Water Cut, Greatwheel, Quick Arrow, Smash, Blade Roll, or
any other of the stronger waza. Becareful when it casts Freeze Wall:
the next person to make physical contact with the monster will take a fair
amount of ice damage. Dagger Draw can also do a pretty decent amount
of damage. Other than that, the Lake Boss is not very hard to defeat.
Wood will thank you for helping him make the hunting area safer. |

Enter Muse's Dream
Quest Starts: Pidona
Rewards: Muse and Sharl may be permanently recruited.
Requirements: 250+ HP, must have finished the
Find Gon quest.
Walkthrough:
Ater finding Gon in the Devil King Palace, return to Muse's house, and
you will notice that she is sick in bed. Sharl says that he is going
to save her and explains that she drank the Dream Devil medicine and is caught
in her own nightmare. You can volunteer to go with Sharl on this quest,
which you should do. You will also drink the Dream Devil medicine and
awaken in Muse's dream which is actually Pidona Castle. While in Muse's
dream, you will only encounter one type of enemy: the Baku. The Baku
have an annoying habit of putting you entire party to sleep. This is
also the best place to learn the Evade Hypnotize waza. The Baku are
a very good monster to level off early in the game, especially since they
leave Earl's Tears after evey battle which recover the entire party's HP,
WP, and JP. |
|
|
You should look for the main treasure of this area: the Silver Hand.
This item will allow Sharl to regain the use of his paralyzed hand
and restore his bad stats. Leave the room you start in and reenter
it to find an Earl's Tears. Next, go down the stairs and turn right.
Enter the room and get the Dream Gem out of the chest. Note:
the Dream Gem along with the Earl's Tears will disappear after you leave
Muse's Dream... unless you do this the cheap way ;) - see the
Secrets section. After leaving the
room and walking up the stairs, enter the first room on the left and open
the chest for the Silver Hand. Leave the room and enter the last room
on the right. Talk to the lady on the far right of the table, and she'll
disappear. |
|
Now leave the room, and you'll be in a new area. If this doesn't
work, try killing some of the Baku in there and leaving. Walk into
the middle room and talk to the girl on the right side of the table.
She'll also disappear. Now leave the room and go through the
stairs to the left. You should see Muse looking at the double doors
leading to the throne room of Pidona Castle. Talk to her, and she'll
join you if you have room in your party. Muse is very weak when she
joins you (0 WP/JP, low HP, 0 in all Weapon Levels), but she can become amazingly
powerful. She can be easily customized to excel in anything you choose.
It will take a lot of work building her up, but I think the rewards
are worth it. Continue through the door to encounter the boss. |
Dream Devil
If you're rather strong when you get to this battle and have Muse in your
party, this battle will be a joke. The Dream Devil has very low physical
defense and doesn't do too much damage. If you don't have Muse in your
party, after you have done around 5000 HP worth of damage, the Dream Devil
will suddenly become much stronger. If Muse is in your party at this
point, the battle will abruptly end with Muse killing the beast. Use
your strongest waza after the transformation. Before the transformation,
use regular attacks or low-level waza so you won't use all your WP. Make
sure you have Evade Hypnotize equipped on everyone before entering the battle.
After the battle, you'll be awakened from the dream and both Muse and Sharl
are fine. You can now recruit them. You'll also learn that Maximus
from the Church gave the Dream Devil medicine to the children... hmm Maximus
seems to be up to no good... |

The Treasure Caves around Great Arc
Quest Starts: Great Arc
Rewards: Treasures
Requirements: Pay money to various people in Great Arc to open caves
Walkthrough:
These caves are very basic. Not too much to describe but here it
goes:
Cave South of Great Arc [#1]:
This is the one with all the fish if you're wondering. Enter the cave
and go south into the water. Once in the water, go down the stairs.
You'll drop down a waterfall into an area full of water. In the
center is an island with 3 treasure chests on it. From left to right
they contain: 200 G, Fishscales, and the last one drops monsters into the
water. Now go through the cave in the northeastern corner of the room
to exit.
Cave Northeast of Great Arc [#2]:
This cave is full of skeleton type monsters. This cave is also very
basic. Follow the stairs which spiral up through the cave. At
the top, the chest on the left has 250 G in it, and the chest on the right
drops monsters.
|
|
|
Cave South 1 Screen of Great Arc [#3]:
This cavern is full of amphibians. Head counter-clockwise down the
cave and entern the small cavern. Go down the stairs into the next
area. Now go southeast into the next room. The entrance is marked
by green moss growing around it. Now turn left and walk through into
the next cavern. The entrance is marked by the red... um stuff.
Inside the chest is a Fang Charm. Now exit the cavern.
Southern-most Treasure Cave [#4]:
This area is full of spirit type monsters. Head to the right and go
up the stairs. Go into the tunnel to a cavern with a chest in it.
Open the chest to gain 200 G then return to the previous area.
Continue to the right and go down the stairs and through the tunnel.
The chest in the small room has a Wing Charm in it. Return to
where you were and head north and into the cave. This cave has 3 chests
in it that contain, from left to right: 300 G, 50 G, and a Shellblazer.
The chest with 50 G activates all the demon statues throughout the
cave. Make your way back to the entrance of the cave and leave. |
