The Phantom World

You can do this anytime in the underworld when you get an airship that can fly over the lava, but I recommend you hold out until you get to the sealed cave where the last crystal remains or after that. it's a good idea to have your party (I judge my party's levels by the top person: Cain) so it should be about 38. you must also have the white magic spells Reflect and Levitate.
On every floor, go to the menu screen and have Rosa cast Levitate on the party. You only have to cast it once, just make sure it goes on everyone. And make sure you do this every floor. In the cave you will fight monsters which vary in difficulty. You fight many Summoners who are very easy if you just go after them and not the monsters it summons. You'll fight these things here, Arachne, which only cast quake repeatedly but since you have Levitate it won't harm you and Cain's jumping does 5000-8000 damage on them.
In the cave, make sure you snag all the treasure that's hidden. You can find Defender, a useful sword for Cecil. There should be a block you stand on that transports you to the town. There is tons of gil here so make sure you get it all. Go buy all the weapons and armor you need and get some tents. There should be another portal to bring you to another part of the town.
In one of the houses, there is a save spot. Save your game and use tents until you're at full (a much cheaper alternative to resting at the inn).
Go to the front of this building, it's the library and has a lot of important information on different summon monsters. Go down a floor and go through the portal.
Here is where the king and queen reside. However, the king won't talk to you unless the queen allows it and she wants the party to fight her.
Ashura can be incredibly easy or incredibly difficult. She will only attack you if you attack her, meaning every time one of the characters attacks, she will counter. She will also heal herself for about 3000 hp every round. Just cast reflect on her and all the healing spells will go on you, so if you need health just wait till she heals you fully. Just attack her regularly and it should be a cinch.
The queen rewards you with the ability to call her powers during battle. She can be especially useful because now Rydia can have healing powers. It either heals the party, revives the party or will cast Shell on the party. Now go back to that save spot and use tents to get back to full, and don't forget to save.
The guy next to the queen is really the king, despite what he says. He challenges you to a fight.
This battle is pretty tough. When he's in the first form, he'll send out a tidal wave causing damage about 1/8th the characters' total hp. In this form he will take more damage if you hit him. Then he'll revert to facing the other way. He will cast Ice 2 on one character doing a lot of damage. Have Cain jump, Cecil and Edge just attack. Have Rydia cast Bolt 2 (or 3 if you have it) and that should do about 1500 points of damage. The tidal wave will come every round so have Rosa wait until he casts it and then cast Cure 3 on the party. If one or more characters die (and they will), follow these steps: Rydia and Rosa won't die because they are in the back row so use them for this. Wait until he casts Tidal Wave (make sure you have enough hp for two of these) and have Rydia use a fenix down on that character and then have Rosa cast Cure 2 or 3 on them. He has 50000 hp.
The king will now give you the ability to call him in battles. Leviathan is very useful doing 5000 damage to most monsters.
