Once you leave the Mysidia Tower, you
will notice that something has destroyed
Altea, and that the monsters are much
stronger outside. Head to Phin Castle
and talk to Hilda. She will say that the
Emperor has summoned a Whirlwind and
it has destroyed Altea, Gatea, Palm, and
Poft, and is going right for Phin. Gordon
says that even with Ultima, it is too late
to stop the Emperor, unless you can fly
into the Whirlwind. Hmm. |
You will also notice that Layla is also
alive. Either way, head to Phin and give
the password [Whirlwind] to him (either
Hilda or Gordon taught it to you). He will
say to search beside the bed. Do that and
follow to the hidden room. The only
treasures worth keeping are the Black
Armor (give it to Richard), another Blood
Sword, and an Elixer. Save the Elixer and
the Blood Sword. Sell what you don't
use and rest up. |
|
|
Head back to Phin Castle and take the
stairs at the southwest corner. Continue
to the 3rd floor and go up to the Mirror
Room. Use the Pendant on the Mirror
and the Mirror will show that the Egg
in the Spring of Life has hatched into a
Hiryuu. It then flies into the room. You
now have the Hiryuu. Head outside and
go behind Phin to the Whirlwind. The
Hiryuu will fly the party into the
Whirlwind. |
The Whirlwind is not too big, and it does
have some worthwhile treasures to get.
From the entrance, follow and take the
eastern stairway. Grab the Ripper Knife
and follow south to the stairs. Go past the
Icy Water and grab the Poison Axe. Give
that to Guy and head back to the First
Floor. Take the western stairs and follow
to the 3rd floor. Follow and take the first
stairs you come across, which will lead
to a Diamond Helmet and Gauntlet. |
|
|
Give the Diamond Gauntlet to Frioniel
and the Diamond Helmet to Guy. Head
back downstairs and go southeast and
take those stairs. Go east and take the
first stairwell you see going up. From here,
go west then south. Don't cross the Icy
Water. On this floor are a Defense Sword
(give to Frioniel and his Ice Sword to
Richard) and a Diamond Armor (guarded
by Generals, give to Maria). Head back
down the stair from whence you came. |
Go right and take those stairs. Continue
up another stairwell. You should be in
a large floor with a room in the middle
(where the stairs past the Icy Water led).
Go to the Northeast corner and take the
stairs. Continue up and you will see the
Emperor. He calls for his Guards to
attack the party. You then fight some
Corpses. Not too tough of a fight. Keep
up the attacks and heal when needed. |
|
|
After they are dead, he sends some more
Corpses after you. Kill them and the
Emperor will challenge you to a fight.
But he doesn't come alone. Kill the Golem
with Fire8 and the Corpses the same
way. The Emperor is a wuss. Even if he
does hit Slow on you, 1 round with
Holy and Ultima will finish him off. He
only has around 1200 HP, so it shouldn't
last long. Pat yourself on the back, the
Emperor is dead! |
The group heads back to Phin and
Hilda and Gordon start to have a ball.
Though peace has finally come, there is
one small thing that you probably
forgotten. What about the Dark Knight?
A soldier then comes in and says that
the Dark Knight is the new Emperor. And
he also goes to say that the Dark Knight
is Lionheart! Things are beginning to
look tight. You must now find a way to
get to Paramekia. But how? |
|
|
Head over to Paul's house in Phin and
Cid will be there. He said that the
Whirlwind sucked him up. On his
deathbed, he gives the party his Airship.
Cid then dies. Time to check your stats.
HP should be around 2000, MP 200.
Weapons at Level 8 or 9. Cure at Level
10. Holy, Aero, Fire, Bolt, and Ice at
Level 8. Flare and Ultima at Level 3 or
4. Heal can stop at Level 8. *A reminder
that the Airship is still in Poft.* |
