Marle is actually Princess Nadia of Guardia Castle in the
year 1000 A.D. She grows impatient with royal life and eventually leaves
her home. She met Crono at the fair and since then joined him in his journeys.
She learns Ice Magic along the way.
She is the owner of the magical pendant handed down to
her by ancestors which was triggered and accidentally opened a time gate.
She was sent to the past and was mistaken to be Queen
Leene. Her existence was endangered for a moment due to the change of
course in history. Crono followed her and saved her in a brink of a moment. When
they came back in their own time, Crono was being accused of kidnapping Marle.
Here, Marle's disagreement with her father grew worse
and made her ran away again with Crono. When she came back, her father was
already being accused by the evil chancellor (who was actually a descendant of
Yakra) of stealing a family heirloom. Marle still thinking that her father
didn't want her anymore because he didn't have time with her (just like he
didn't have time to see her mother in her death bed) helped her father with the
aid of Crono and his friends to find the missing heirloom. The chancellor was
exposed and Marle found out that everything she thought about her father
neglecting her mother in her death bed was all untrue. She was reunited again
with her father and was able to continue her adventures again with Crono but
this time on her own free will.
