The Wedge and the Gear

Go directly south to the town of Mortyr. Otto will
be there waiting for you. Watch the funny scene
with PJ and Pottle. Otto tells Sandor that to get the
Orb of Water, he needs a Wedge of Ice, a Blanket
of Fog, and a Water Gear. The mayor (the man
standing next to Otto will explain that he will give the
Wedge of Ice to Sandor only if he defeats whatever
is in the Danek Base.
Buy Sandor a Great Sword and a Spiked Armor
in the north part of town and an Iron Helmet and ,
Chrome Gloves in south. Then buy a Hunter's Bow
and an Iron Shield for Pottle, and a Thorn Bracelet
for Rachel. If you do not have enough money for this,
go out and fight a bit. Rest up and buy about another
50+ Herbal Extracts. When you are ready, head
northwest from Mortyr to the Danek Base.
This place can be tough. The Drones and Crayprobes
are quite tough (though the Crayprobes are weak to
Shock). The base itself is easy. Go down the middle
and go left for a Static Sling and right for a Jelignite.
Go down to continue. Follow until you come to a
crossing. Go up to get an Iron Shield and Chrome
Gloves. Give the Gloves to Pottle and the Iron Shield
to Sandor. Go back and forward a bit. Sandor will
then notice something and go hide (back to the
chests).
You will see a scene with Sadoul and Jeal. They
talk a bit about the attack on Lorath and Elynthia
(the name for Elin, who Sadoul believes has some
power). They then talk about the Orbs a bit. They
leave and you can continue. Keep going right and up.
Save the game (and level up if low on MP), and go
up the stairs. You will see Sadoul with Elin. It seems
that Sadoul has brainwashed Elin. Sandor attacks,
Elin stands in front of Sadoul. Sadoul calls upon
the Gigatron to attack the party.
Gigatron only has a little under 3000 HP, but this
sucka is tough. It hits 2-3 times for about 160-300
HP damage. One the first round, have PJ use Shock
and the rest use all 3 Static Slings to knock off a
good chunk of HP. Then, have PJ continue to use
Shock, Sandor and Rachel attack, and Pottle use
a Herbal Extract when needed. If someone dies,
use a Mandacore or Vilkyss on it to revive the ally.
Keep up the HP (Sandor-160, Pottle-210,
Rachel-190, P.J-300), and keep attacking and it
should soon die out.
Head back to Mortyr and talk to the Mayor, who
will give Sandor the Wedge of Ice. Otto is gone
to Segazz, which is south from here. Rest up and
get a few Herbal Extracts. Head through the south
exit. Segazz is only a short distance southwest of
Mortyr, so it shouldn't be too tough.
Once inside, look around. You will find Otto with
the village chief in the middle of town. Sandor tells
Otto about Elin (Elynthia). Otto reconizes the name
as the Magician in Marwick. Otto then goes to tell
that he knows where the Water Gear is. It is in that
Shrine on top of the mountain (Shrine of Pegasus)
that you passed. This was built by the wizard Solon.
Talk to the chief and he will tell you how to get there.
The last dragon died, but a dragon egg might be in
the Dragon Layre in the cave to the west. Rest up
and buy some herbal extracts. Then head west.
The monsters here have about a good 600 HP, so
expect longer fights. The first part of the dungeon
is pretty straight. Then at the 2 stairs is where it gets
complicated. Take the left stairway. Continue to get
and Elves' Bow. Give it to Pottle and his Hunter's
Bow to P.J (during non boss battles). Continue and
take the stairs to the far right. Go up the stairs and
then the one furthest up. Follow up the stairs and
you will soon find a spring with the Dragon Egg.
Warp out and head back to town.
Rest up and talk to Otto. Sandor will set the egg
down and Otto will cast a wierd spell that sounds
more like a cheerleading event. None the less, the
egg hatches and produces a Dragon. The Chief
harnesses it and the Dragon flies you to the Shrine
of Pegasus. Just go straight up and grab the Water
Gear. Go back to the dragon and it will fly you to
the shrine south of Segazz. Walk back to town. Talk
to the Chief (Otto is gone to the Shrine of Water.)
He will lend Sandor the Dragon to use freely. Rest
and level up to 23.
